Abstract

318,105. Universelle Cigarettenmaschinen-Fabrik J. C. Muller & Co. Aug. 27, 1928, [Convention date]. Cigarette-making machines. - In a tobacco spreader in which the fibres are taken up from a conveyer band 2 by a sieve band 6 moving over a suction chamber 8, and are delivered as a fleece to a conveyer band 10, the delivery is facilitated by forming the band 10 as a sieve band passing over a suction chamber 12. The tobacco is removed from the band 2 by a stripper plate 3 and a compressed-air nozzle, and a brushing roller 5 renders the fleece uniform. The chamber 8 may be tapered at 8<a> as described in Specification 314,949, and the band 6 is cleaned by a brushing roller 9. In a modification, the sieve band is formed as a rotary drum, a sector of which is subjected to internal suction. The Specificaton as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that a drop of air pressure having a suction effect may be obtained by means of suitably-shaped compressed-air nozzles. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
