Web feeding and guiding arrangements; papercarriages.-In web-manifolding arrangements of the kind described in Specification 23349/14, in which the platen roller can be separated from the feed-rollers to permit manipulation of the webs and interleaved carbon sheets, two or more sets of webs, either of which can be written upon at will, are led over independent sections of the platen roller. Two sets of webs 72 pass over two platen rollers 22, 23 mounted in separate frames 24, which are pivoted on a rod 25 on the paper-carriage 20 and are normally retained in the depressed position by latches 28. The platen rollers are provided with independent line-spacing mechanisms operated by levers 38, 46 respectively. Each of the frames 24 is provided with an adjustable gauge 56 for the webs, and the rod 25 supports two guide-plates 69, controlled by levers 70, for guiding the webs. The platen rollers are associated with independent trollies 64 which run on supports 59 attached to the paper-carriage, and are provided with fingers 66 for attaching carbon sheets which are interleaved with the webs. The trollies may be of the construction described in Specification 105,115.
