Abstract

1340365 Vehicle air conditioning units SOC ANON DES USINES CHAUSSON 13 Jan 1971 [16 Jan 1970] 1747/71 Heading F4V A vehicle air conditioning unit comprises a casing subdivided into a first chamber 2 having a fresh air inlet 8 controlled by a flap 7, a centrifugal fan 11 and a duct 16 controlled by a flap 15 leading to grilles 17 having adjustable diffusers 20, and a second chamber 1 including an upper partition 13 having an aperture 12 controlled by a louvre 18 communicating with the fan 11 and an aperture 14 also controlled by the flap 15, a heating heat exchanger 27, an evaporator 28 and at each of two opposite sides of the chamber 1 an aperture 24 leading to the passenger foot well and a duct 22 leading to a windscreen de-icing outlet, both controlled by a common pivoted flap. During air cooling, the flap 7 is closed and air from the vehicle interior is recirculated via apertures 24 and 12. A valve 30 controlling the evaporator 28 and the louvre 18 are simultaneously operable by a common control unit. Air filters may be provided at the apertures 8 and 24. A condensate collection vessel 31 is positioned below the evaporator 28.
