Abstract

1,238,980. Centrifugal spreader. VOGEL & NOOT A.G. 17 Dec., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 61587/69. Heading A1D. A centrifugal spreader comprises one or more spreading discs 13 beneath an outlet cup 4, a valve 7 operable by a lever 16 which is movable with respect to a scale 17, means 24 for holding the lever in any selected position and a lever 6 for rotating the outlet cup about a vertical axis to control the segment into which material is scattered. A shield 23 masks the spreading discs 13 from above and a baffle 5 masks a segment of the circumference of the discs. The baffle and shield are connected to the outlet cup to rotate therewith. The outlet cup is provided with three equi-angularly spaced flanges (8), Fig. 2 (not shown), which overlap the edge of a disc 3 which has three corresponding notches (9), Fig. 2 (not shown), to allow the cup to be released when in a particular angular position. One of the flanges is spring loaded with a wing nut to adjust the compression of the spring. The hopper 1 may be removed from the implement frame 27. The handle 16 is connected to the valve 7 by means of a flexible cable 14 and a spring 15 acts to close the valve.
