Abstract

1,001,119. Spreading granular material. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Jan. 23, 1962 [Feb. 10, 1961], No. 2524/62. Heading AlD. A machine for spreading granular material over the ground comprises a container supported by a frame 1 and a spreading member 17. Material is fed from the hopper by means of an annulus 16 formed with three outlet ports 18, 19, 20, the effective opening of which is adjusted by means of masking plates 42, 43, 44 carried on a ring 45 which is engaged concentrically round the annulus 16. The annulus 16 bears on the spreading member 17 and is prevented from rotating therewith by means of a retaining member 21 which carries a pin 26 which engages in holes 27 and in holes 29 in a member 30 so that the angular position of the annulus may be adjusted. The ring 45 is similarly adjustable and is provided with holes 64, 77, 80 formed in lugs 65, 78, 79 in one of which holes is inserted the end of a linkage 49 operated by a lever 68. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,001,120.
