Abstract
1,252,298. Low-foaming, biodegradable, washing powder. HENKEL & CIE G.m.b.H. 10 Jan., 1969 [17 Feb., 1968], No. 1603/69. Heading C5D. A low foaming, biodegradable washing agent in powder form comprises (a) 3-25% wt. of at least one strongly-foaming anionic detergent selected from alkylbenzene sulphonates, alkane sulphonates, olefine sulphonates and soaps (Na, K or triethanolamine soaps); (b) 0À5-10% wt. of at least one weakly-foaming non-ionic detergent selected from polyethylene glycol ether derivatives of fatty alcohols, fatty acids and alkyl phenols, which contain 2-20 E.O. groups and C 10 -C 20 ; adducts of ethylene oxide with polypropylene glycol, ethylene diaminopolypropylene glycol or alkylpoly propylene glycol containing C 1 -C 10 alkyl, said adducts containing 20-250 E.O. groups and 10-100 propylene glycol ether groups; (c) 0À2-8% wt. of at least one foam-inhibiting agent selected from C 20 - C 24 fatty acids, their salts, and triazine derivatives obtained by the reaction of 1 mol cyanuric chloride with 2 to 3 mols of a C 4 -C 20 alkylamine; (d) 10-50% wt. of at least one condensed phosphate selected from alkali metal di- and triphosphates; (e) 0À1-20% wt. of at least one sequestering agent selected from alkali metal salts of aminopolycarboxylic acids, aminopoly phosphonic acids and hydroxyalkane phosphonic acids; (f) 10-35% wt. of sodium perborate tetrahydrate; (g) 0À01-5% wt. of an enzyme; (h) 0À05-1% of at least one optical brightener which is a diaminostilbenedisulphonic acid or a diarylpyrazoline derivative; (i) 0À1 to 30% of at least one inorganic salt which is a carbonate, bicarbonate, silicate, borate, sulphate or chloride of an alkali metal; (j) 0À05-10% of a magnesium salt and/or magnesium hydroxide. Optional ingredients are (A) anionic, non-ionic or ampholytic detergent other than (a) or (b) above; (B) sodium cellulose glycollate; (C) phenyl substituted aminocoumarins; (D) dyestuffs, perfumes, skin-protecting substances and germicides. The magnesium salt may be water-soluble or sparingly water-soluble, e.g. chloride, fluoride, bromide, sulphate, silicate, bicarbonate or acetate.
