Abstract

1,152,847. Applicators for liquid herbicides. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 15 July, 1966 [4 Aug., 1965], No. 33354/65 Heading A1D. An applicator for applying liquid herbicide to weeds growing between rows of plants comprises two supports 1, 2 pivoted together at 3 and each provided with a guard 6 or 7 at one end and a handle 4 or 5 at the other end so that by moving the handles the position of the guards can be adjusted. Liquid is contained in a reservoir 11 carried on the back of an operator and is fed down the support 2 and tube 16 to a nozzle 18. In a modification, each guard is provided with a wheel, one of which incorporates a pump for delivering the liquid to the nozzle. In a further embodiment a single wheel is used and incorporates a pump.
