Abstract
Método de operación de un sistema de purificación de gases de escape de un motor de combustión interna en el que una válvula (16) de alimentación de hidrocarburos para alimentar hidrocarburos está dispuesta dentro de un conducto de escape del motor, un catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape para hacer reaccionar el NOx contenido en los gases de escape y los hidrocarburos que se inyectan desde la válvula (16) de alimentación de hidrocarburos y se oxidan parcialmente está dispuesto en el conducto de escape del motor aguas abajo de la válvula (16) de alimentación de hidrocarburos, el catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape porta un catalizador (53, 54) de metales preciosos y una capa (55) básica está formada sobre el catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape, caracterizado porque el catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape tiene la propiedad de reducir el NOx que está contenido en los gases de escape cuando se inyectan hidrocarburos desde la válvula (16) de alimentación de hidrocarburos a intervalos de alimentación predeterminados mientras se mantiene una relación airecombustible de unos gases de escape que fluyen al interior del catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape pobre y tiene la propiedad de aumentar en la cantidad de almacenamiento de NOx que está contenido en los gases de escape cuando los intervalos de alimentación de los hidrocarburos son más largos que los intervalos de alimentación predeterminados, y, en el momento del funcionamiento del motor, se usan selectivamente, según un estado de funcionamiento de un motor, un primer método de purificación de NOx que inyecta hidrocarburos desde la válvula (16) de alimentación de hidrocarburos a dichos intervalos de alimentación predeterminados mientras se mantiene la relación aire-combustible de los gases de escape que fluyen al interior del catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape pobre para eliminar el NOx contenido en los gases de escape y un segundo método de purificación de NOx que cambia la relación aire-combustible de los gases de escape que fluyen al catalizador (14) de purificación de gases de escape de pobre a rica mediante intervalos más largos que dichos intervalos de alimentación predeterminados para eliminar el NOx.
