Abstract

La invención se relaciona con cepas de S. cerevisiae capaces de secretar alfa-galactosidasa al medio de cultivo, así como a métodos para la obtención de alfa-galactosidasa utilizando dichas cepas y métodos para la producción de biomasa y bioetanol mediante el cultivo de dichas cepas en medios ricos en galactosa. En otro aspecto, la invención proporciona métodos para la expresión de proteínas recombinantes usando una composición rica en galactosa como medio de cultivo para los microorganismos productores de dicha proteína.
