Abstract

Procedimiento para la preparación del ácido 2- y del ácido 4-hidroximandélico por condensación de ácido glioxílico con fenol, caracterizado porque se hace reaccionar el ácido glioxílico con fenol, después de lo cual, el fenol, el ácido 2- y el ácido 4-hidroximandélico, respectivamente, son separados por elución en una columna que comprende una resina de intercambio aniónico, en la cual se separa primero el exceso de fenol, seguido de la separación del ácido 4-hidroximandélico en forma de ácido o de sal y, finalmente, del ácido 2-hidroximandélico, también en forma de ácido o de sal, en función de los desorbentes.
