Abstract

A plant is proposed for dewatering sludge which arises in the clarification of cloudy water which is generated in industrial processes. The purpose of the plant is to decrease the volume and weight of the sludge for use or recovery. The plant essentially comprises two chambers (1, 2) arranged one above the other which are connected liquid-tightly together by means of a pipe (1.5) furnished with a stopper. A motor-driven shaker (2.2) and a filtration compartment (2.4) are provided to accelerate the sludge dewatering process and to increase the degree of compression of the sludge.
