Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for applying glue to a filter wrapping paper strip in a filter rod machine for the production of filters for rod-shaped smoking articles, such as cigarettes, as well as the use of a glue application device for such a method.
During the production of filters for rod-shaped smoking articles, in particular filter cigarettes, filter wrapping paper is provided with a glue trace on the side facing the filter body in order to establish a connection between the filter body and the filter wrapping paper. Usually, the glue is in the form of beads or beads with a static distance to the edge, ie in the form of, for. B. meandering lines, applied to the filter wrapping paper. This static distance is created by a fixed position of the glue application device over the paper web.
Since the filter wrapping paper is highly porous, there is a risk that the glue not only enters the paper, but because of its open structure on the other side can escape again, so the glue through the filter wrapping paper "breaks through". This is disadvantageous because the visual appearance of such products with optically visible traces of glue is not appealing. Since it is the other side to the outer side of the filter wrapping paper and run on this side pulleys and other guides, these pulleys and other guides are particularly affected by contamination with glue residues, which also has a negative impact on the function of the glue application device in particular and the operation of the filter rod machine and thus the filter manufacturing machine generally has a negative effect.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to avoid such a "strike through" of glue applied to highly porous filter wrapping paper.
This object is achieved according to one aspect of the present invention by a method of applying glue to a filter wrapping paper strip in a filter rod making machine for rod smoking article filters, such as cigarettes, characterized by the steps of applying liquid glue to the cupping surface of a rotating screen roll to record from a arranged on the anilox glue distribution chamber and then applied to the filter wrapping paper strip by contact with the lateral surface of the anilox roller pressure and pressure-free.
Furthermore, the invention proposes according to a second aspect to achieve the above object, the use of a glue application device with a cup having rotating screen roller and a arranged on the anilox glue distribution chamber is taken from the glue from the lateral surface of the anilox roller, for pressure-free and pressure-free application of the glue from the surface of the anilox roll on a filter wrapping paper in a filter rod machine for the production of filters for rod-shaped smoking articles, such as cigarettes.
According to the glue application is thus carried out in the manner of a gravure printing system by the glue is applied without pressure and without any overpressure by wetting the paper surface on the filter wrapping paper, since the glue is simply pulled out of the wells of the anilox roller. For this purpose, only a connection force is used, which arises when wetting the paper surface of the filter wrapping paper, whereby an undesirable pushing of the glue through the filter wrapping paper strip is prevented therethrough.

Preferred embodiments and further developments of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims.
Thus, the invention is particularly advantageously for the gluing of filter wrap paper strip with a high porosity between about 10,000 and about 45,000 cm 3 (cm 2 x min x kPa).
Preferably, after removal from the glue distribution chamber and before delivery to the filter wrapping paper strip, any excess glue which may be present should be doctored off from the jacket surface of the anilox roll by means of at least one doctor blade.
Furthermore, the wells are preferably arranged in a specific distribution over the width of the lateral surface of the anilox roller, in order to prevent specific traces from occurring, especially in the case of guide and deflecting rollers and other, in particular static, guides for the filter enveloping paper strip.

The filter trough preparation unit 1, hereinafter abbreviated as treatment unit, serves for the preparation of an endlessly fed
The thus treated and sprayed with

The
When the
