Definitions

  • the invention relates to a plucking head for motorized epilators, consisting of a hollow cylinder at least partially enclosed by the device housing, the working surface to be placed on the skin of which is defined by its end face, with a clamping device mounted in the hollow cylinder, consisting of at least two diametrically opposed, under spring action standing jaws which can be pressed against the inner surface of the hollow cylinder and are operatively connected to a control element arranged coaxially with the cylinder axis and a gear connection between the drive motor and the hollow cylinder and / or control element.
  • the clamping jaws are attached to the free ends of leaf springs which are attached with their other ends to the inner surface of the hollow cylinder.
  • the control element which effects the opening or closing movement of the clamping jaws is designed as a cam which acts directly on the leaf springs below the clamping jaws.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the clamping effect of the clamping device in an epilator of the type mentioned.
  • an almost uniform opening gap can advantageously be achieved when opening the clamping jaws, but if necessary also a wedge-shaped enlarged opening gap by shifting the pivot point of the clamping jaws, as a result of which the hair to be gripped can be threaded more easily.
  • the length of the plucking head can be reduced noticeably in the direction of the cylinder axis.
  • a particularly simple, smooth-running and energy-saving drive of the clamping jaws can advantageously be achieved with the features specified in claim 5.
  • an energy supply for the actuation of the jaws of a significant size is only required in the area of the closed jaws, while for the functions: "Open - keep open - close" only Frictional and inertial forces are to be overcome, which in turn can be kept low by known technical measures.
  • the patent claim 6 characterizes a further advantageous embodiment of a plucking head, the movement mechanism for the clamping jaws contains essential advantages of the variants described above, namely: full closing force over the entire closing angle range of the control element with low energy consumption.
  • Energy for actuating the jaws is only used in the closing phase, i.e. Plucking phase needed. It is proportional to the actual clamping force, which in turn is directly dependent on the force of the spring in the jaw-lever assembly and can easily be kept within narrow limits.
  • the additional spring travel that is possible due to the limited mobility of the two components relative to one another is only required for manufacturing and tolerance compensation and is insignificant with regard to an increase in force.
  • control element expedient embodiments of the control element are characterized, which can optionally be used if necessary.
  • the epilator shown in Fig. 1 consists essentially of a housing 1, in which a schematically illustrated motor 2 is housed, which can be both an electric motor fed by primary or secondary cells or directly from the network and a spring mechanism motor.
  • the housing 1 also partially encloses a hollow cylinder 3, which is part of the plucking head and can optionally be fixedly attached or rotatably mounted in the interior of the housing 1, as described in the subsequently published patent application DE 39 22 949.
  • a shaft 4 is rotatably mounted coaxially to the geometric axis A of the hollow cylinder 3 and is driven by the motor 2 via a schematically illustrated gear 5;
  • the hollow cylinder 3 can also be driven optionally via this gear 5. If a fixed axis is arranged instead of the shaft 4, there is no connection with the gear 5.
  • diametrically opposed clamping jaws 7 are also pivotally mounted on fixed axes 6, which under the action of a spring 8 on the inner surface 9 of the Apply hollow cylinder 3 and on the other hand via lever arms 10 cooperates with a control element 11, which can be designed as a cam 12, which is attached to the shaft (or axis) 4.
  • the hollow cylinder 3 is provided on its bottom with a transverse bulkhead 14 through which the shaft (or axis) 4 of the control element 11, which is designed here as a cam 12, is passed.
  • the cam 12 viewed in the direction of the end face of the hollow cylinder 3 - two axes 6 are mounted in the hollow cylinder at right angles to the cylinder axis A in mirror image to the cylinder axis A, on which two diametrically opposed clamping jaws 7 are pivotally mounted.
  • the jaws 7 are provided with lever arms 10 which cooperate with the free ends 15 with the cam 12.
  • a compression spring 8 in the form of a compression leg spiral spring is tensioned, which presses the jaws 7 in the upper region of the hollow cylinder 3 against its inner surface 9 into the closed position.
  • the clamping jaws 7 are pushed into the open position by the rotating or fixed cam 12 via the lever arms 10 and, when released by the cam 12, are pivoted back into the closed position by the spring 8.
  • a suitable lever ratio of the clamping jaws 7, formed by the distance from the pivot axis 6 to the force application point on the cam 12 on one side and to the clamping surface in the upper region 16 of the hollow cylinder 3 on the other side a favorable overall mechanical construction can be realized.
  • the jaws 7 are opened by the cam 12, but the closing takes place by spring force, the closing movement can take place extremely quickly through a suitable profile of the cam 12. This enables correspondingly longer times for threading and plucking the hair during a work cycle, and the spring-actuated clamping jaws 7 experience a high initial closing force, as a result of which captured hair is held securely.
  • the hollow cylinder 3 and the shaft or axis 4 have the same shape and are numbered in the same way.
  • the variant of the plucking head shown in FIG. 3 has a hollow cylinder with two axes 6, which are arranged in the same way as in FIG. 2 and on which clamping jaws 20 are pivotably mounted, which in the upper region 16 of the hollow cylinder 3 touch the inner surface 9 thereof.
  • the shaft (or axis) 4 guided through the transverse bulkhead 14 of the hollow cylinder 3 carries at its free end the control element 11, which is designed here as a cam disk 21.
  • Leaf springs 22 are firmly embedded in the clamping jaws 20, the free ends of which engage with spherical sliding bodies 23 in the control groove 24 of the cam disk 21.
  • the leaf spring 22 thus combines the two functions: spring action and movement transmission from the control element 11 to the Clamping jaws 20 in a single component, which in the exemplary embodiment (FIG. 2) were distributed over two components.
  • the clamping jaws 20 are pivoted over the spiral spring 22 during the rotation of the overall system by the cam disc 21 which is at rest or rotating at a suitable speed.
  • the clamping force for holding the hair is built up by overpressing the leaf springs 22 and maintained over the required angle of rotation.
  • two axes 25 directed parallel to the geometric cylinder axis A are mounted within the hollow cylinder 3, on which the clamping jaws 26 are pivotably mounted, so that the pivoting movement takes place parallel to the working surface B of the plucking head. Only one axis 25 can be seen in FIG. 4. Between the two jaws 26, a coil spring 27 is tensioned, which urge both jaws into the closed position with the inner surface 9 of the hollow cylinder 3.
  • the clamping jaws 26 are provided with lever arms 28 which cooperate with the control element 11 attached to the shaft (or axis) 4, which here is cup-shaped, with an inner surface 29 serving as a control curve, against which the lever arms 28 act at least during the pivoting movement of the clamping jaws 26 concerns.
  • the embodiment of the plucking head shown in FIG. 6 also has a transverse bulkhead 14 through which the shaft (or axis) 4 is guided, and two axes 6 which are attached in the upper part of the hollow cylinder 3 at right angles to the geometric axis A of the hollow cylinder 3.
  • Clamping jaws 30 are mounted on these axles as well as lever arms 31, which are initially independent of them and are designed separately and are thus rotatable relative to one another.
  • the lever arms 31 each have a molded, spherical sliding block 32 at their free end, which engages in the control groove 33 of a cam disk 34 fastened on the shaft (or axis) 4, which here represents the control element 11.
  • the jaws 30 partially overlap the lever arms 31 with a hood-like extension 35.
  • a spring 36 in the form of a flexible leg compression spring encompassing the associated axis 6 is tensioned between the two components and swings the clamping jaws 30 and the associated lever arms 31 apart until the lever arms 31 come to rest against the recesses in the hood-shaped extension 35 forming the stops 37.
  • clamping jaws 30, spring 36 and lever arm 31 represents a closed functional unit which is controlled by the control groove 33 the cam disc 34 is operated as follows:
  • the plucking gap opens from the closed position shown in the drawing to the maximum opening, which is kept constant via an angle of rotation determined by the profile of the control groove 33, and then the closing movement takes place via the lever arm 31 to the jaws 30 again have reached the drawn closed position.
  • the lever arm 31 now leaves the stop 37 in the direction of the geometric axis A of the hollow cylinder 3, the clamping jaws 30 maintaining the full closing force at the plucking gap over the entire closing angle range.
  • the lever arm 31 is returned by the control element 11 up to the stop 37, with which a new work cycle begins.
