Abstract

Una espuma de poliuretano de alta resiliencia (HR) que comprende el producto de reaccion de (1) al menos un poliisocianato que comprende al menos aproximadamente 5 por ciento de al menos un isomero de diisocianato de difenilo metileno, derivado o combinacion de los mismos y (2) una mezcla de al menos un poliol en base a aceite natural y al menos un poliol adicional que no sea un poliol en base a aceite natural, en donde la mezcla comprende al menos aproximadamente 10 por ciento en peso de poliol en base a aceite natural y al menos aproximadamente 40 por ciento en peso poliol adicional que tiene un peso equivalente de al menos aproximadamente 1700 Daltones; y la espuma tiene una resiliencia indicada por un rebote de pelota de al menos 40 por ciento segun la medicion de acuerdo con los procedimientos ASTM D 3574, Ensayo H. Se realiza una espuma HR de acuerdo con un proceso que comprende las siguientes etapas: (a) formar una composicion de poliol en base a aceite natural que comprende al menos aproximadamente 10 por ciento en peso de al menos un poliol en base a aceite natural que tiene una funcionalidad OH de al menos aproximadamente 2,2 y un peso equivalente de al menos aproximadamente 500 Daltones (Da) y al menos aproximadamente 40 por ciento en peso de al menos un poliol convencional que tiene un peso equivalente de al menos aproximadamente 1700 Da y agua (b) mezclar al menos un catalizador con la composicion poliol en base a aceite natural para formar una mezcla de catalizador de poliol; (c) proveer un poliisocianato que comprende al menos aproximadamente 5 por ciento en peso de al menos un isomero de diisocianato difenil metileno, derivado o combinacion de los mismos, en una cantidad correspondiente a un índice de isocianato de al menos aproximadamente 55 y cuanto mucho aproximadamente 105 y (e) mezclar el isocianato con la mezcla de catalizador de poliol.
