Abstract

Secuencias de ácidos nucleicos que codifican proteínas que están relacionados con la presencia de compuestos de almacenamiento de semillas en plantas. Más específicamente, se revelan secuencias de ácidos nucleicos tipo FAD2 que codifican proteínas reguladoras del metabolismo de lípidos y al uso de estas secuencias en plantas transgénicas. En particular, se describen métodos para manipular compuestos relacionados con el metabolismo de lípidos y para aumentar el nivel de aceite y alterar la composicion de ácidos grasos en plantas y semillas. También se describen métodos para usar estos polipéptidos de plantas para estimular el crecimiento de plantas y/o para aumentar el rendimiento y/o la composicion de compuestos de almacenamiento de semillas.
