Un compuesto representado por la siguiente fórmula general (I) o una sal farmacológicamente aceptable del mismo, en donde A representa un grupo cicloalquilo de C3 a C12 el cual puede ser sustituido por una a tres grupos seleccionados de un grupo fluoro, un grupo hidroxi, un grupo alquilo de C1 a C6, etc.; R1, R2, y R3 representan cada uno independientemente un átomo de hidrógeno, un grupo fluoro, o un grupo alquilo de Ci a C6; R4 representa un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo de profármaco; y Y representa - CH2-CHR5-CH2-NHR6 (en donde R5 representa un átomo de hidrógeno, un grupo alquilo de C1 a C6, o un grupo alcoxi de C1 a C6, y R6 representa un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo de profármaco), o similares, exhibe excelente actividad inhibidora de TAFIa, y es útil como un fármaco terapéutico para infarto al miocardio, angina de pecho, síndrome coronario agudo, infarto cerebral, trombosis de venas profundas, embolia pulmonar, y similares.
