Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un nuevo tipo de refinadoras del grano para acero, en la forma de un material compuesto en partículas, que contiene una fracción en alto volumen de partículas dispersadas elaboradas a la medida, con el propósito de que actúen como sitios de nucleación heterogénea potentes para cristales de hierro durante la solidificación y subsiguiente tratamiento termo-mecánico del acero. El material contiene una composición de partículas de XaSb o XaOb y el elemento o elementos X, en donde X es uno a más elementos seleccionados del grupo Ce, La, Pr, Nd, Y, Ti, Al, Zr, Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg, Si, Mn, Cr, V, B, Nb, Mo y Fe, y S es azufre (O es oxígeno), en donde dicho material adicionalmente contiene oxígeno, azufre, carbono y nitrógeno, en donde el contenido de azufre (u oxígeno) es de entre 2 y 30% por peso de dicho material, mientras el contenido total de oxígeno (o azufre), carbono y nitrógeno y dichos otros elementos seleccionados del grupo X son de entre 98 y 70% por peso de dicho material, y dicho material contiene una fracción en alto volumen de partículas de XaSb o XaOb incrustadas en una matriz metálica X. La invención se refiere además a métodos para la producción y uso del material compuesto.
