The invention relates to the mechanical engineering for manufacture of brake shoes, namely to a composition for friction material.The composition includes a polymeric thermosetting resin as binder, friction filler and reinforcing filler in the form of combination of vitreous, aramidic fibers, as well as chopped thermoadaptive bicomponent fibres of the type “core-shell”, the core of which is made of an alloy of fusible metals, and the shell is made of glass.As core of the bicomponent fiber is used an alloy including tin and aluminum, taken in the mass ratio of 99.5:0.5 or 97.5:2.5.
