Abel Banda hat dies repostetAbel Banda hat dies repostetExcited to share our latest work for Allwyn UK made in collaboration with C4 and Hearts & Science for the Set For Life game from the National Lottery. This DRUM originated brand-new comedy series ‘Lucky Days’ sees comedy talent Seann Walsh, Olga Koch and Eddie Kadi ponder the question ‘What would you do if you won £10k per month for 30 years?’. With each episode following one of the comedians as they win £10k to pursue their own personal passion and live their best lives. Since first pitching the idea to Channel 4 in February, we've had a lot of fun on and off camera during shoots across London, Brighton and Paris. The content is launching across Channel 4’s YouTube Channel, with cutdowns on social and a 30s TVC on their streaming platform. A big thank you to Lee Tarrier, Ashley Evans, Claire Baker, Jenny Turze and Hannah Lee from the DRUM team. And Jennifer Gilbert, Mia Kyrikos, Rick Williams and Abel Banda from Hearts & Science. The Dream Gap is the space in between young girls’ wildly imaginative ambition and their full potential—hindered not because they’re incapable, but by the society they grow up in. Conscious and unconscious biases try to water down their dreams early on, but the Barbie Dream Gap Project is on a mission to close the gap by challenging gender stereotypes and helping undo the biases that hold girls back. And while they’re driving awareness with this campaign, I think we all know it’s going to take an even bigger collective effort. We have a responsibility to close this gap for the next generation of girls—to nurture their #confidence, reinforce their abilities, and lift them up as dreamers and doers! Mattel, Inc.

Abel Banda hat dies geteiltAfter a 2 week hiatus from anything to do with work and multiple hours sitting by the pool with a book I’ve been able to reflect on my experience with dentsu Aotearoa 5 years, 4 roles, 3 teams, 2 different agency brands and one amazing time, and I think numbers speak for themselves in terms of the quality of the workplace and the opportunities it provided me over my time there. I’m not going to pretend that I’m missing the work just yet, but what I will miss greatly is the, banter and overall fun that I had with the team there (see photos below) I got to work with some pretty special, supportive and talented people in my time at dentsu and it’s going to be a pretty hard team to match that wherever I end up. On that note it’s a couple more months of holiday around Bali and Europe, but to all my London friends I will be looking for a job starting in September, so if you have any opportunities please get in touch!🇬🇧🇬🇧

Joining a meeting I wouldn’t normally have been part of. Starting an intentional conversation while making coffee in the kitchen. Choosing to go in person even when joining online was an option. I used to underestimate the value of these moments. I was often so focused on execution and delivery that I didn’t always make space for them. But more I expose myself to different perspectives, the more I realise how these can influence the impact I’m able to create and how much I would have missed if staying in my own bubble. So that’s a piece of advice I’ll be keeping in my pocket and sharing with others: Make space. You never know what ideas might come along!

It’s the ultimate boardroom crowd-pleaser. It sounds focused, disciplined, and comfortable. The trap is in that last word: Better. When real-world trade-offs hit, "Better" almost always gets downgraded to safe, incremental, a quick polish. We tweak last year’s plan, secure easy sign-offs, and pay a massive Boring Tax just to guarantee average performance. It’s cheap comfort that changes very little about a business's actual growth trajectory. Our CSO, Sue Kipling, just published an insightful piece calling this out. Her argument - It’s time to upgrade the mantra to Fewer, Bigger, Bolder. "Better" buys short-term reassurance while quietly capping your brand's potential. "Bolder" forces uncomfortable choices, breaks predictable playbooks, and shifts your focus from buying repetition to earning memorability.
