DO NOT USE THIS SITE TO BUY CARS

We seen a car advertisement and we went and met a man we thought was legit about selling his car. It was for our son who needs a car for college and work. My son paid a lot of money that he saved up for over a year. Within a few days of having the car problems started we fixed the car put it back on the road now it has major problems and it has gone in to limp mode. We’ve ordered parts worth over €1000 to try to get the car back in working condition. I’ve tried contacting the seller who has now blocked me. When we first bought the car I asked the man straight out is there any problems with the car as it’s for our son he said no that it never gave him any of bother. Clearly this is not true, why can’t DoneDeal check who’s putting up ads on their site. This man is now selling 2 other cars on the site again most likely going to scam more people. It’s an utter disgrace!! How can I trust this site going forward people should be extremely weary

We're really sorry to hear this — what your son has gone through is genuinely distressing, especially after saving so hard for the car.

This is exactly the kind of behaviour we want off our platform. Please report the seller's ads directly through the site and get in touch with us at hello@donedeal.ie with as much detail as you can. We'll escalate this as a priority.

For future purchases, buying from a Trusted Dealer on DoneDeal gives you the protection of consumer rights, warranties, and verified seller status — it's the safest way to buy.
