I purchased a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid AWD through Clicars in April 2026. The buying process was smooth. What I discovered afterwards raises serious questions about their 320-point certification.
The certification states "no signs of accidents on the bodywork" and rates paint as "in good condition." It also lists two bodywork retouches (RT) on the front bumper — which by the document's own legend means repaired imperfections. Both statements appear in the same section of the same document.
A carVertical report (€15, 2 minutes) revealed two undisclosed accidents: a front impact in 2017 (€1,500–3,000 damage) and a rear impact in 2023. An independent inspection through Checkar found 12 of 13 panels repainted, body filler on the right rear fender, an undeclared dent on the rear bumper, and all four brake pads at end of life — contradicting the certification's 40–70% figures. The certification classified the right rear fender as "R" (scratches). The actual condition: deep repair with body filler and excess primer.
When I reported the dent, Clicars replied it "was visible in the listing photos." Their own certification has a dedicated "dents" column that was left unchecked.
I sent detailed findings on April 18. No response as of April 22.
Advice to future buyers: spend €15 on a carVertical report before purchasing and buy professional check before car even delivered. It found what 320 points of professional certification did not.
