I have a psychiatrist and cannot afford a med he prescribed so asked him to please fax paperwork I sent to him to drug manufacturer. Never happened. I am not happy so I just changed to a different psychiatrist at this company. Wish me luck with this new psychiatrist to actually want to help their patient. Perhaps my previous psychiatrist is just too busy. Sad

Absolutely terrible, and I don't mean the therapist but the company. I was simply interviewing a therapist, and there is never a charge for the first meeting, EVER, and they charged me $200. I explained to them how no
"service" was provided, yet they still took money from my account. Absolutely terrible business customer service. Never will use again. If they had handled this like they should have, I would have told everyone and come back.

Questionable billing practices. Was over charged for appointments, then spent 45 mins trying to figure out how. Each appointment was a different amount, with no resolution. It’s the insurance company, apparently that is the answer they like to tell people. Most people have a simple understanding of benefit, and coverage of their own plans.

Billing and insurance are a complete and utter joke. Was billed $900 for sessions that were fully COVERED by my insurance. The reps keep going in circles and do not care to actually submit the claim properly. I am on 6 MONTHS of trying to merely explain they submitted under the wrong insurance and I can't seem to get that small point across to one rep. They are clearly outsourcing their support internationally which in turn is making the help almost non existent due to lack of understand and ownership. You are better off using an office with a human that will actually help understand your case.
Side note, my therapist is lovely, but I'm almost tempted to stop seeing her due to the customer service issues. It's that bad.

Very disappointed with Thriveworks and its policies. While our couples therapist was fine, the company’s lack of communication and compassion has been unacceptable.
We previously experienced two same-day cancellations from therapists. On one occasion, no one from Thriveworks notified us that our therapist would not be attending. We sat in the virtual meeting room for more than 15 minutes, emailed to check on the therapist, and later learned that the corporate or regional office was responsible for contacting us but failed to do so.
Yet when we had a genuine emergency and contacted Thriveworks the day of our appointment, they refused to waive the $130 cancellation fee. This was our first time needing to cancel under emergency circumstances.
Apparently, Thriveworks expects clients to give them grace when their staff cancels or when their office drops the ball, but they are unwilling to extend that same grace to the people paying for care. That makes it feel as though collecting a fee matters more than understanding what clients may be going through.
Again, our issue is not with the therapist. Our issue is with Thriveworks’ policies, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Based on this experience, I would not recommend using this platform. If you can work directly with an independent therapist, I strongly suggest doing so.

I asked to reschedule an appointment because my mother was in the hospital. They would not let me reschedule or cancel without an $135 cancellation fee. It felt very money hungry, uncompassionate, and wrong. I will not be receiving services through them anymore. I want to support a company that shows compassion, especially as they are within the medical field.

Jacquelyn is a very kind and supportive counselor who listens to me and offers feedback and suggestions that have improved my life. She helps me identify ways I can be better and has encouraged me as I implement them. I highly recommend her and Thriveworks!

My therapist wasn’t able to help me. I’m not sure why.
There was never a clear plan during treatment. I don’t feel I’m beyond help.
Holding me accountable might have helped, almost anything, might have helped.

Thriveworks has been a disappointing experience. The billing department has made multiple mistakes, telling me I owed them thousands of dollars over a year after service. It took hours of my time on the phone figuring out what they did wrong. My physiatrist did not listen to me, and didn't even know what I took my medications for, even after I saw her for over a year. Do not waste time with them.

This place is a JOKE! We have been waiting on a family members diagnosis and paper work for over 2 months!! Ofcourse we have called and been given promises and the run around. They have time to bill the insurance and send a bill but no time to send the paid for info to the client. RUN AWAY AND GO SOMEWHERE THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS MENTAL HEALTH!!!

They did not inform me that my provider's contract was not being renewed. I found out from my provider at my last session. My child's provider started her on a new medication and left on vacation. My child had an allergic reaction and there were not other providers that specialize in the diagnosis of bipolar type 1 and was told to find help elsewhere until her provider returns from vacation.

All of the staff that I interacted with we're very kind but there wasn't a ton of helpful communication and a lot of my questions weren't directly answered. There is also some mistakes that were made by thriveworks that made my interactions a bit more difficult.

Before you proceed with this company, always check what's covered and not covered because they will not inform you about additional charges beforehand

It's ironic that a company whose mission is to support people's mental health has caused me so much unnecessary stress.
I chose Thriveworks because their website listed a therapist as accepting my insurance. I booked the appointment based on that information. Two minutes after my therapy session had already started, I received an email saying the therapist was actually out of network and that I would be billed $240. By the time I saw the email, the session was over. I was never given the chance to make an informed decision before incurring that cost.
I immediately disputed the charge and asked billing not to charge my card while the issue was being reviewed. Customer support said my case had been forwarded to a billing specialist. Billing never responded. Instead, Thriveworks charged my card anyway.
The part that hurts the most is that I've been waiting over a year to start therapy. It took a lot to finally reach out for help, and what should have been a hopeful first step instead left me feeling misled, anxious, and distrustful.
Mistakes happen. What matters is how a company responds to them. Unfortunately, my experience has been one of poor communication, disregard for a pending billing dispute, and a lack of accountability.
I sincerely hope Thriveworks improves its insurance verification and billing practices. No one seeking mental health care should have to leave their very first appointment wondering whether they can trust the company that's supposed to be helping them.
