Evaluating 171 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Customers frequently complained about highly unstable internet connections, constant service dropouts, and unexpected price hikes after the introductory year. People also experienced extremely frustrating issues trying to reach customer support, waiting for very long periods on hold, and receiving little meaningful help with longstanding and unresolved technical problems. Some reviewers were happy with the reliable service, excellent connection quality, and helpful staff members who resolved issues quickly. Consumers also noted reasonable monthly prices, great value plans, and very prompt, friendly assistance when contacting customer support for general account questions.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with…

Extremely Disappointing Experience with TekSavvy – Poor Service, Failed Installation Support, and Unacceptable Customer Service

I signed up with TekSavvy on June 23, 2026, for a 1 Gbps Internet plan along with home phone service, expecting reliable service and reasonable customer support.

Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing from the beginning.

I received the modem on July 2, 2026, but the connection could not deliver speeds anywhere close to the 1 Gbps service I had subscribed to. The maximum speed I was able to get was approximately 500 Mbps.

I contacted TekSavvy customer service and spent approximately two hours going through various troubleshooting procedures. Eventually, the representative advised me that a technician would come to my home to investigate and resolve the issue.

I waited for the technician for three days during the time slots provided by TekSavvy, but no technician ever showed up.

I subsequently contacted TekSavvy again by phone and email. The customer service experience was extremely frustrating. On multiple occasions, I had to wait more than an hour simply to get someone on the phone, and on some occasions I was unable to get through at all.

TekSavvy later emailed me advising that the first modem was faulty and that they would send me a replacement modem. When I received the replacement modem, I contacted customer service to arrange the modem swap.

During that call, the representative disabled my first modem, but then the call was disconnected/dropped before I could successfully activate or configure the replacement modem. As a result, I was left without working Internet service.

My Internet service was ultimately disconnected on July 3, and despite numerous attempts to contact TekSavvy, I continued to face extremely long telephone wait times—often an hour or more—just to try to reach customer service.

After dealing with these repeated problems, failed troubleshooting, a missed technician appointment, modem issues, service interruption, and extremely difficult customer service, I decided that I could no longer continue with TekSavvy and requested cancellation of the services.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that, despite providing the information requested by TekSavvy for the cancellation, I continued receiving account-related emails and billing communications instead of receiving a clear confirmation that the cancellation had been completed.

My overall experience

The biggest problem was not simply the technical issue. Technical problems can happen with any Internet provider. What made this experience particularly unacceptable was the lack of effective customer support and the difficulty in getting the problem resolved.

Spending hours troubleshooting, waiting days for a technician who never arrived, dealing with modem replacement problems, losing service, and then having to wait an hour or more repeatedly just to speak with someone is simply not an acceptable level of customer service.

In my personal experience, this has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had with an Internet/telecommunications provider.

I strongly recommend that TekSavvy review its customer service processes, telephone wait times, technician scheduling, modem replacement procedures, and cancellation/billing procedures. Customers should not have to spend hours and days trying to resolve basic service problems and then struggle again simply to cancel the service.

This review reflects my personal experience and the events that occurred during my dealings with TekSavvy.

Week Overdue in payment? Expect 3 emails and a Call for payment or face suspension

They are a reseller for Rogers Communications for smaller/rural communities. I want to say couple pros before anything critical.
1) Good customer service
2) Reasonable in-person trouble shooting response time

Bad
1) They are not the lowest priced re-seller
2) They are dependent on Rogers uptime.
3) They will harass you via multiple emails and automatic calls if you do not pay your bill within a week. I was away on vacation and they suspended my service for an invoice I received on Aug 10th and suspended it Aug 21st. Not sure what their customer service business model is, but it is bad. I plan on moving shortly and will never use them again. There are better options out there. Do not recommend TekSavy.

Very disappointed with TekSavvy!

I initially called because my internet had been slow for a couple of months. As the first technician was ending the call, she told me to reboot the system. I did, and my internet stopped working completely. I tried rebooting it several times, but nothing worked.

I called again. The second technician didn’t even go through troubleshooting and simply said he would submit a service request, which could take up to 24 hours.

By the evening, I called again because I hadn’t heard back. Thankfully, the third technician was very friendly and actually took the time to troubleshoot. After more than an hour, she got my internet working remotely.

My biggest question is: if the third technician could fix it remotely, why couldn’t the first two even troubleshoot the issue? If they had, I probably wouldn’t have lost almost my entire workday.

And after all those hours, I was offered only about $1 credit for the outage. This experience is making me seriously consider switching providers.

Im waiting on my new internet this morning so I can cancel teksavvy. This was the worst experience. I tried it for a full year. And one time they left my account on cancelation and I was running on the lowest network for 2 months.... absolutely horrible. And no help on my bill for that mishap either. Do Not recommend.

THEY SENT ME A CHECK FOR $0.01 (a penny)

My husband passed away due to an aggressive cancer at the end of December 2025. TekSavvy bill was in his name so needed to advise them of his passing. Due to my grieving I was unable to do this until March. At that point I advised them by phone and they said a death certificate was required to be submitted by email. I tried numerous times including sending it in pdf format.

After hearing nothing for 2-3 weeks I sent a follow-up email. No response. St this point, in early April, I decided to change both the Teksavvy internet and home phone to another provider, thereby canceling Teksavvy's services. It worked well for the home phone but kept getting billed for the internet that they were no longer providing me.

I called them, explaining the situation. I forwarded my previous emails directly to this rep and stayed on hold while he spoke to his boss. Many moments later he came back on the phone, stating that I still owed for June and I pointed out the emails that I'd sent in March and April. I was being covered by Bell and not by Teksavvy. His boss said since they never received the emails the most the would do is pay for 1/2 of that bill, and could I please send the modem back, at their cost. I hmph but agreed. Just to be done with them!

Then they HAD THE NERVE TO SEND ME A CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF $0.01. YES, 1 CENT !

How rude! Never recommending them or using their services again!

Fantastic customer service

After moving from Ontario to Nova Scotia I had to have Bell Alliant put in a fibre cable that TekSavvy used to connect my internet. Bell made an error entering information and it was impossible for me to connect. It took numerous TekSavvy technicians hours over a number of days to get the error corrected, their patience was amazing, they were fantastic.

No due process. Just threats for collections.

I was a customer for over a decade. In st Catharine’s I had no issues but moving to Welland the speed got slower and after a few outages that took days to sort, and always would up being an issue on Bells end, I made a switch. Up until then, I was reasonably happy.

Following the switch I was promised a shipping label to return their modem. It never came, instead I received a letter threatening to take me to collections for the value of the modem. I contacted customer service and found they had mistakenly changed my email address and sent the label to some unknown email. Shipped the modem and then received an email (to my correct email address) saying I owed them 29 dollars for not shipping their modem fast enough. In the end I managed to get the charge dropped, but a threatening letter and email because of a mistake on their end following outages due to issues on their end leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Wouldn’t do business with them again.

Teksavvy here in Almonte

Teksavvy here in Almonte. Terrible service and had to eventually cancel as the fibe was worse than dial up. It took them 3 months to set up the fibe line, Bell did the work but TekSavvy couldn't even get them to come as they have no contact with the techs. It was a joke. I took multiple days off work and sat around like a fool for nobody to show up time after time. When the fibe did get installed it was way worse than the cable lol. Dropped constantly and had a 3 ft wifi range. Terrible product terrible company. Do yourself a favor and go distributel if you want a better option.

Price continues to rise with no relief

Poor customer service. Price continues to rise with no explanation. I have been trying to disconnect because I’m moving. I won’t order service from them again. Thought the provider was excellent but trying to end the service has been a hassle. I keep getting told a different story. Call in 30 days prior. Go on the Internet, call back during certain hours? Get disconnected. it’s a scam because if you miss the 30 days you’ll pay an extra month. It’s ridiculous that you can’t call in when you know you’re moving, a hectic time of your life, and ask to disconnect on a certain date. I was going with Tek Savy again because I find the provider is strong. I’ve never had a problem with Internet but I changed my mind because it’s been such a hassle trying to end the service. It’s a scam if you miss the 30 days you’re charged for an extra month. because of this I won’t be ordering internet service from this company again

Amazing customer service with great wifi at a great price!

Honestly their customer service is superb! These guys are super easy to talk to and always very helpful! I just recently signed up for a service but accidentally inputed the wrong address! Totally my mistake but when I called they were able to fix everything. Even when the router ended up getting to delivered to that wrong address they were super understanding and sent me a new one without any hassle! The wifi is super afforadable and works wonders. Every once in awhile I have to unplug it for 2 mins and plug it back in but other than they're fantastic!

They have no idea how to even help and can give me no answers.

Internet sucks

I have to call multiple times a month because my internet constantly goes down. They blame Rogers alot, and I know Rogers sucks, but had way less issues as a direct Rogers customer with internet (not their awful customer service).
When the Internet works it's great, but it goes down WAY too much.
