Excellent as always
My order was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition which I really appreciated. The 5 litre tins of wood preservative were in strong boxes with preformed cardboard inserts top and bottom to hold them safely and securely. Delivery was fast and it arrived on time. I have ordered from Wood Finishes Direct before and have always been confident that my order was being dealt with by a professional company who cared about their customers.

The service from Wood Finishes is excellent - next day delivery was brilliant!!
For information, the DPD service was very lacking - there is an instruction on my DPD file stating where to leaves packages if there is no reply. Sadly, the driver ignored this and left the package in the middle of the door mat in plain sight of the road, flagging that the house was empty and the package could be stolen. Happily, I got a neighbour to take it into safe custody,

GOOD AND BAD ELEMENTS
I have to write a positive response first as Wood Finishes Direct are very good on prices. Also I ordered late on Friday afternoon 17 July to get my paint the following day, Saturday 18 July, I paid £4.95 delivered by DPD. I ordered three 5 litre of the Cuprinol decking stain. Wood Finishes Direct supply a wider variety of stains compared to other trades. I wanted Natural Oak and I did not realise they did a Natural as well. I clicked on the Natural by mistake. The cans have not been opened and I have all the original packaging. When I rang Wood Finishes today to explain what I had done and that I wished to return and re-order at the same time. I was told that I would have to take the 3 heavy cans up to my local post office myself, there was no collection service. I thought this strange considering that I would be ordering again and DPD could collect when they drop off the new supplies. What's more, I have disabilities and cannot carry heavy objects and this did not make any little difference when I told the customer service call handler at Wood Finishes Direct. I told her that my son has a serious leg injury and that he would find this near impossible. None of these aspects made any difference and I was not offered any alternative or any reasonable adjustment given the circumstances. Good prices, good delivery service, well packed items but poor customer service when you have to return items but are re-ordering at the same in the correct colour. It will take 14 days to get a refund as well? Really disappointed by the uncaring nature of this company.

That said, I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with the customer service you received regarding your return, and I completely understand your frustration given the circumstances you've described.
I would like to clarify a few points from your conversation, as I appreciate there may have been some misunderstanding. When you spoke to the team, we explained that we do not currently offer a collection service for returns. While DPD do deliver new orders on our behalf, DPD unfortunately do not have a facility in place to arrange for to collect unwanted returns at the same time. This is a limitation of our couriers system, not a reflection of your individual circumstances, and I apologise if this came across as uncaring – that was never our intention.
Regarding the return itself, I do understand that taking heavy tins to the Post Office is particularly difficult especially with a sharp incline involved. Whilst we are unable to arrange a DPD collection, you are welcome to arrange your own courier collection from your home, which may be a more convenient option than visiting the Post Office.
If you would like to go ahead with the return, please let us know and we can talk through the options with you. We'd also be very happy to place the new order for you in Natural Oak whenever you're ready.
We are genuinely sorry that we were unable to meet your expectations on this occasion, and I hope this explanation helps to clarify our position.

Ordered via B&Q from Wood Finishes Direct. Quick standard free delivery but came a day early so was able to start the job early. Kept uptodate on delivery and arrived well packed. Was 5lt tin of paint and had extra in-box packaging to stop it moving. Would certainly use company again.

DPD's Lazy Delivery
Nothing wrong with the product, or date of delivery. It was the delivery itself, by DPD. The parcel was left on the edge of my driveway for some reason. We were in, but no one rang our doorbell, or alternatively the parcel could have been left in our enclosed porch. We have a big footprint, and I just felt it smacked of laziness, not to walk the extra yards to deliver. The parcel was left in a vulnerable position, whereby anyone could have just picked it up and taken it. Not impressed with DPD's delivery at all

I could not believe how quickly my order was processed after ordering on Friday afternoon and delivered 8.15 next morning. Packaging was perfectly secure and contents superb.
