Prolific is a dreadful organization. They are rip-off artists extraordinaire. They might have been a reputable company at some point, but they are now a bot-driven nightmare. Stay far, far away.

Other than the long wait time to be approved for studies, I am having a great time with Prolific. The studies and surveys are plentiful for my account when I log in, and I am consistently being reminded with new studies coming in or current studies which have been updated for me to see further disclosures. I appreciate the respect that the Prolific platform has given me in regards to my account and my studies with third-party researchers. One thing to point out is the payment disclosures for the studies which often give a range of a few cents (USD) to roughly around 16.90 (minimum wage in the state of california), sometimes even less to $12 or $14 per hour. I would prefer that the studies pushed most would be of those researchers who are mostly Prolific partners instead of other 3rd party researchers who pay very little.

This is a great way to make a little extra money.

Its a great money making platform used by academic professionals on a international level. The only issue i have had so far is a few minor technical difficulties in the execution of some studies, but overall its negligible. I have been using the platform for a little over three weeks, with consistent success. At this rate, if i use this platform for a whole year, i would be on track to theoretically make an extra 5k.

What an awesome platform to take surveys on. They are honest, pay well, and have fun and insightful surveys to take at your leisure. The wait and onboarding is a process, but worth it nonetheless. This is a great company to work with! 5 stars all day!

This is a mere survey platform. They have a right to a minimum amount of data about a participant. But this company takes it to an extreme. You give them ALL of your privacy PLUS it goes to others by default. No matter how well they pay, it's not worth the dangerous risk to help them garner data.

Your ID document (front, back, extracted data like name, DOB)

Live video of you following instructions
This is substantially more invasive than a simple photo verification.

This far exceeds anyone's need to know about you and me. It is dangerous to offer up this information. Even the government is breached. Any of these companies could be breached. This about all this before you sign up.

I've had a very positive experience with Prolific. The studies are interesting, the platform is easy to use, and the payments are reliable. I really appreciate the opportunity to participate in academic research.

I don’t feel like I’m part of a scam nor do I feel phishing traps or anything like that. Multiple security features brings reassurance that my data is safe.

Really fair payout! And serious and usefull studies

Using Prolific is a highly satisfying experience and vastly superior to conventional online survey platforms. The main reason is its deep respect for users' time and privacy, as the platform sets a transparent minimum hourly rate in real currency (GBP or USD) without confusing point systems. Users are also spared the frustration of being disqualified halfway through, since Prolific's algorithm only shows studies where the respondent's profile already meets the criteria. Once a task begins, users are almost guaranteed to complete it and receive fair compensation.

Just joined and the experience has been excellent! Really enjoy the fact that my voice and opinions count.

This company stands up to it's promises and provides fair incentives.
