At Laithwaites, wine isn’t just what we do – it’s who we are. For over 50 years, we’ve been a family-run wine merchant, partnering with like-minded, family-owned wineries across the globe. We’re winemakers ourselves too, with our own cellars in Australia, France and the UK – where we craft award-winning English Sparkling Wine. Every year, we taste over 40,000 wines and pick just the top 800 or so to share with our customers. We were early champions of now-iconic styles like Marlborough Sauvignon and rich southern Italian reds, always on the lookout for what’s next. Add to that our legendary service, no-quibble guarantee, and 300,000 happy customers – and you’ve every reason to give Laithwaites a try.

Regular Laithwaites Customers.
We have been drinking Laithwaites wines for well over 20 years now and they are all brilliant. We recently bought a case of Cabalie with two whites, two rose’, the rest were variety of their reds. Previously we had a case of Viognier whites, all superb wines. Our adviser Bernie Heaney is always a pleasure to talk to, we had the chance too meet up last year at Laithwaites wine tasting event in Birmingham. By the way, we need another one in the Midlands.
Polite, helpful, knowledgeable.
Scott has been my wine advisor for several years, certainly beyond pre-Covid days. He is unfailingly polite and never pushy. He makes helpful suggestions, at a range of price points, when I ask for wines with certain features. Ordering is always unfussy and delivery reliable.
The Missing Bottle
Always a pleasure to receive some Cabalie wine. However, the bottle I was really looking forward to tasting was missing i.e.
Cabalie Origine and was replaced by a Rose. This was hardly a fair comparison and I was disappointed that there was no explanation. Not like Laithwaites at all.
Long time customer
I have been a Laithwaites customer for over forty years, going back to the Bordeaux Direct days.
I have found their range, quality and pricing to be good. I have found wines that I like so why change?

Another amazing order placed with the help of our lovely Wine Guide Shannon. I emailed with some wines that we particularly like and Shannon came straight back with a great deal on a mixed case. It's always a pleasure to talk to her and we are never disappointed with our wines.
all went well
Laithwaites Mark Hampton - Senior Wine Guide
I've enjoyed buying wine from Laithewaites for decades (!!) and for most of those years I've been lucky enough to have the help of Mark Hampton. Not only very knowledgeable about the vast Laithwaites selection, but also a really nice person who is easy going and always very helpful. It's always a pleasure to speak to him.
Thanks Laithwaites, thanks Mark and here's to the next couple of decades!
prompt delivery of good wine.

Malcolm Pocock has been my personal wine guide for many years and his attention to my preferences is wonderful, but it is his helpful and gentle pushes for me to try different wines and varieties I’ve not tried before that is something I value. The latest advice was a red wine to chill for the summer and it was spot on
A word on Chris Burgess
A word on Chris Burgess, Wine Advisor. Chris is undoubtedly a superb advisor, and has consistently 'read' my taste buds in his recommendations to me over the last ten years (possibly more).
We have discovered a small number of differences in taste preference: quite rightly, taste is such an individual joy.
On the few rare occasions that I have not fully appreciated a wine Chris suggested, he has been 100% helpful in sorting out a solution.
I got lucky when Chris became my advisor!
Well done Chris, and well done to Laithwaites for consistently high-quality customer service.
