Had to call three times to collect I Mac. Had to visit shop again as it wasn’t highlighted my key pad would work and purchase an adapter. I couldn’t get a breakdown of the invoice I needed. The customer assistant had to call the accounts lady as a payment hadn’t been recorded or recognised on system when I went to collect it.

Yet another great experience
This is the six or seventh time I have dealt with Creative IT since I moved here, both for purchases and repairs.
On the most recent visit, after I had damaged my phone, I had to buy a new one, but most importantly (for me) , they were able to transfer all my contacts which contained so much more individual information

Went to this place for a laptop…
Went to this place for a laptop recovery as I had inadvertently lost some file programmes and could not log back in to computer, so left in and got email with, it was going to cost €80 just to look at it and when I said OK, the next email I got was it could cost up to €450 for repairs and possibly above €450 for any extra work!!! And they wanted my approval to proceed on that basis which I most certainly did not give, so it’s the old nickel and dimming (As they say in the states)Where they try to make incremental increases in pricing to extort every penny they can out of you,so NO THANKS!! as I know for that repair, it doesn’t cost anywhere near that!! So I won’t be going back there ever!!;PS, they only ever talk to by email after initially dropping off laptop so they don’t have the balls after that to talk to you face to face.RIP OFF,BACK STREET GARAGE COMPUTER REPAIR!!

Data recovery is a specialist service, and we always provide customers with full transparency on pricing before any work begins. The €80 assessment fee covers the technician's time to evaluate the device and attempt initial recovery — this was clearly outlined in our email. The €450 figure represents the maximum cost for an in-house recovery, not a guaranteed charge. As we explained, costs only escalate beyond that if specialist external services are required, and we always seek approval before proceeding to that stage.
No work was carried out on your device beyond what you approved, and it was returned to you promptly when you decided not to proceed — exactly as it should be.
Regarding communication by email — this is standard practice for all repair and recovery work, as it ensures everything is clearly documented with no ambiguity about what has been agreed. Our process exists precisely to ensure every customer receives the same transparent, documented communication regardless of the job. We don’t make exceptions to that process — doing so would undermine the protection it provides to both the customer and the business .We also explained directly to you why in-store discussion wasn’t possible at the time: two of our senior, experienced staff members were on annual leave, and we had a new staff member keeping the shop open in their absence. Data recovery is specialist work that cannot be handled at the counter, and this was communicated to you clearly. Handling it remotely through email was the responsible approach, not an attempt to avoid conversation.
What this review fails to mention is that the owner of the business took time out of his annual leave to personally contact you and ensure everything was communicated clearly in his absence. To characterise that level of care and attention as avoidance is, frankly, unfair.
As for the “back street garage” comment — we’d respectfully suggest that description couldn’t be further from the truth. We have some of the best technical talent in the country working in our workshop, and we regularly receive devices from customers all over Ireland — repairs that other shops have turned away or simply couldn’t complete. Data recovery in particular is one of the most technically demanding services in this industry, and our pricing reflects that. That reputation has been built on expertise, honesty, and transparent pricing — the same approach we applied here.
We stand fully behind our pricing and our process. We wish you well in getting the issue resolved elsewhere.

Great Service-very helpful
This time no work was actually done in the end - however Evan’s advice and input into helping me figure out the right solution to my problem was very helpful, informative and invaluable.
Previously I have bought devices from them which lasted for years without problems- and I’ve had various other problems and repairs resolved successfully by them. Always a very good service.
