CHEAP CHINESE PLASTIC DUST EXTRACTOR AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE…
The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EQUIPMENT ***AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS*** I have never experienced customer service as poor as with this company. States on paperwork what is included in the box. Several missing items only to be told that this is a mistake on the paperwork and these aren't included. Dust extracting machine is cheap plastic, hose keeps falling out of sander, even though everything connected correctly through their video. ABSOLUTE TAT FOR £300, WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! wish I had read reviews prior. RUDE RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO OFF NO HELP OR SOLUTION ***AVOID AVOID AVOID***

Not great
It was all great until recently
It was all great until recently....
It pains me to say it, I'm really disappointed. I have had many a product from rutlands and I;ve shouted their name far and high to people to use them.
However, more and more recently, I have noticed a decline in product quality. products becoming more cheap to feel, more plastic'y, less accurate.
It is a real shame that things have gone this way.
The lack of interest from you when saying stop hiding the price in your marketing emails hasn't gone un-noticed either, we all know that you are forcing the reader to click on the link, which means you can then bug them with further emails reminding them that they haven't purchased said item.
I'm off to Axminster tools where quality and customer service has yet to fail
Despatched and Delivered very quickly
Despatched and Delivered very quickly. Got a very good deal with £50 one off reduction. Very pleased.
Poor Customer Interaction
The products themselves looked good quality, but unfortunately they arrived damaged in transit. I appreciate that damage can happen and I wasn't looking to blame Rutlands for that.
What disappointed me was the initial customer service. Despite the items arriving damaged and one being unusable, I was offered a 50% refund to keep them. In my view, that's not an appropriate resolution when goods are damaged before they reach the customer.
After I challenged the decision, Rutlands did arrange collection and agreed to provide a full refund, which was the correct outcome. However, the customer service was sarcastic and challenging and it shouldn't have required further discussion to reach that point.
It's a shame because this experience wasn't really about the damaged goods it was about how the situation was handled. I hope Rutlands review their approach to good customer service, although looking at the comments on here probably not as poor service is a general theme. There are plenty of other suppliers in this market, i will be using them from now on.
Fast delivery yes but there is a but
Fast delivery yes. But and here is the but in the paperwork you receive it states what's included and what you should receive. Yet they don't send this out to you. When you question them they know it's an error yet have made no attempt to change this or rectify it. When approach customer service there is none. Just the manual is wrong so that's that. Not good at all and won't be buying from them again

Brought many products from Rutlands and until now reasonably pleased, however I purchased there small router table and didn’t use much and only after having for 8 months with very little use realised the bed had a substantial dip in it. They refused to refund or replace and there excuse was the router table is not made for professional use more DIY projects !!! I explained to them whether DIY or professional a router table should always be straight and true or pointless to use. I also ask to be removed from there daily email list as I won’t be using them again !
No free delivery
No free delivery.
£8.50 currently for the cheapest delivery and then it didn’t arrive. No refunds on non-delivery because they don’t claim back from their couriers. You paid the postage, not our problem, your problem.
Now it is a 5 day delivery… for £8.50.
The product better be good when it arrives because currently this is my first and last order with them.
Unsubscribed from their emails.
Not sure I did not right thing to order their product.
Going with Axeminster in the future.
Perfect so far
As always the order arrived quickly, on time and in perfect order. The workbench and clamps were really good quality as per all previous orders, and at a very good price (all were discounted from usual prices). I've no hesitation in ordering again but I'm yet to try a Rutland's own brand machine such as an orbital sander, how might it compare to Metabo for example?
The prompt and efficient service
The prompt and efficient service, and the ease of being able to get help.
Delivery is the next day, and the quality of the product is first-class. The costs are reasonable, with the daily prices are the best you can get.
Product quality was great
Product quality was great and a quick delivery and well packaged.
Cheaper isn't always worse.
Honestly most of my plug in tools are now rutlands, lathe, mitresaw, tablesaw, drill press, plungesaw, and recently got the wetstone machine. Bit of a fan boy at this point. Had doubts before based on review a few years back but took a risk with something cheap and yea, haven't gone back. Also sign up to the emails, they show daily price drops on there.

As a new wood turner I did quite a lot of homework before I bought a Rutland R5 wood lathe. Most of the reviews were positive alas it was only after I bought the lathe that £600 pounds that I paid was I think well over priced .I have turned a few objects and I must admit the lathe runs well but you don’t need to be a genius to see the cheap build quality with no back up from Rutland if things go rong after one year.To the more experienced and professional wood turner I suppose nearly £600 is not that much but to me it was.Still life is one big learning curve so I will no better next time.

Excellent company to purchase from.
Always a Pleasure to Business!
Placed order online very easily; great products and at a great price.
Nice touch having Paypal and Apple Pay functions.
Collected from the depot; received a friendly welcome, and a nice chap helped me carry my purchases to my car.
Couldn't ask for better service!
Rutlands are my go to first choice supplier for tools!

Shocking customer service, manners, and common sense
Placed an order for several bits online but managed to select the wrong size sanding discs on the order.
Sent an email immediately (probably less than 3 minutes after the order was placed) to get them changed.
They got back to me saying I had to cancel the order and place it again. Fine I thought. That makes sense. But in the short period between sending me the email and me reading it they dispatched the order before I had chance to even read the email or cancel the order.
They then proceeded to send me a generic that's tough luck and quoting small print and terms and conditions. expecting me to pay the return postage of the goods I don't want and then more postage on top for the correct ones. Common sense has clearly left the building for 'give us your cash and we don't care' There are plenty more customers in the sea.
Not only was it a snotty attitude it was bordering on juvenile and unprofessional as the 'its in the small print' email was shotgunned 5 times within minutes of each other just to hammer the point home.
So long Rutlands, and my next order will be elsewhere, so for the sake of some manners and common sense, I hope the £35 was worth it loosing a repeat customer and if this review swerves even one person it adds to the worth of writing.
