Horrible company to deal with and total misrepresentation.
They sold us the wrong mattress and it was defective. We returned it and they upsold us to the most expensive bed and promised satisfaction guaranteed. It is the wrong mattress and their head office confirmed it was the wrong mattress. Sleepcountry refuses to assist. They do not tell the truth, they upsell and basically total misrepresentation. Horrible company....never do business with them ever again. We are going on social media to warn others to stay away from them.
The guarantee is completely bogus
The guarantee is completely bogus. My experience - after one year my mattress popped a spring. I called them to honour their guarantee. It cost me $ 50 to have an expert come to assess. Because my mattress had a stain on it I was denied HERE'S THE STAIN - I had marked in pencil an "H" for "head" before I flipped the mattress over. THAT WAS THE STAIN. How are they even in business??!!
They lie and they cheat
They lie and they cheat.
I am quoting policy.
引 Pre-owned or "Certified Renewed" mattresses sold at Sleep Country generally range from just a few weeks to a maximum of 100 nights (about 3.5 months) old. This is because they are sourced exclusively from customer exchanges made within the company's 100-Night
Comfort Guarantee trial period.
® Sleep Country +1 Before being resold, these returned mattresses go through a deep sanitization process using high-grade disinfectants and are certified to meet the company's hygiene and quality standards. They are then sold at a discount (up to 40% off) and typically come with a full
manufacturer's warranty.
In fact I was sold a mattress that according to the label was over 3 years old. Only realized this after my $8000 Kluft mattress was delivered. It should have been no surprise to anyone that the mattress was defective with depressions throughout the surface. This is what happens when you try to pass off a 3.5 y year old mattress as quasi new.
At the end of the day, I had it replaced at a cost to me of thousands of dollars and much time wasted, and a bad back to boot.
Stay away from this vendor.

Absolutely horrible
Absolutely horrible. I dealt with them 15 years ago and they were great, but now that they've been taken over by a new company, they are trash. Their Bloom box bed base completely crumbled apart in less than a year. As soon as I received it and saw the materials, I knew it wouldn't last, but they refused to refund me and told me it had a good warranty. But I'm not going through the hassle of warranty claims every year! The Kingsdown mattress is now falling apart on the side, after just over a year. Customer service has repeatedly led me around in circles, calling the store, tracking down management, being referred back to their customer service line, only to be told I had to go to the store again. Insanity! I will never shop here again.
Shoutout to to Kitty Prang at the Kitchener Vanier location, and Dominic Hamel at customer service, who worked together to actually help me. They seem to be the only 2 people in the company who actually care about people and try to help them.
Property Damage Not Fixed
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sleep Country/Silk & Snow.
During the delivery of our new bed frame, the delivery driver recklessly drove directly onto my front lawn, despite the fact that we had just experienced a record amount of rainfall in June. The ground was completely saturated, and the truck caused significant damage to our property that could have easily been avoided.
I contacted Sleep Country customer service and was directed to their damage claims department. They instructed me to obtain two repair quotes from lawn care companies. After contacting two separate companies, both advised that the minimum cost to properly repair the damage would be approximately $5,000.
I was upfront and honest with the claims representative. I specifically said, “I’m not trying to scam your company out of $5,000.” Instead, I offered what I believed was a fair compromise: if Sleep Country covered the cost of the materials, I would complete the labour myself to save everyone money.
Rather than working toward a reasonable solution, I was told they would not pay for any labour because they are “a publicly traded company.” That explanation made no sense to me. If your company damages a customer’s property, you should take responsibility for restoring it properly.
Ironically, I was trying to save Sleep Country thousands of dollars by doing the work myself. Instead, they refused to meet me halfway, leaving me with no option but to submit the full repair quotes they originally requested.
Mistakes happen, but it’s how a company responds that defines its customer service. In my experience, Sleep Country failed to take responsibility in a fair and reasonable manner. I expected much better from a company of this size, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend purchasing from Sleep Country or Silk & Snow.
Avoid Sleep Country Bloom products
Avoid Sleep Country Bloom products, they are poorly made. The vertical screws that hold the bed frame foot to the frame bends easily and is poorly designed. I contacted customer services to see if I could buy replacement feet, they responded they were no long covered under warranty, (I wasn't asking about the warranty, was asking about if it was possible to get new feet). The part I need to replace is a molded plastic bed frame foot, probably costs $2-5 to manufacture, they should be handing out replacement parts, or offering them at a reasonable price. I've personally spent over $10K on mattresses and bases in the last 7 years. So guess I'll no longer be shopping at Sleep Country, all over a $2 replacement part. That being said, we've had no other issues with the products we've purchased.
poor sales tactics
Its been a long time I am wanting to write a review for the sales tactics that gave me a bad experience.
I went to Sleep country Kanata for a buying a comfortable mattress. i already had bloom Earth that i bought online and was the best every mattress. this time i went to buy a better one under the assumption that the sales associate would suggest. Unfortunately the sales person clearly suggested a poor mattress that costed me 2x the cost of my existing mattress.
this one was Bloom SOL which is the poor mattress and uncomfortable.
I reported the uncomfortableness after 90days but the process of complain wasnt clearly handled as they had a specific set of process to evaluate the quality, but the quality is not at fault but the comforability.
please suggest better mattress to customer rather than selling your target. the agent sold me that this mattress was costly and she is giving a warehouse offer and thanksgiving offer and sold it to me that it would be the best.
this is poor sales tactics, till date I am not able to use the mattress as its very uncomfortable and creates more body ache. Please correct your sales tactics
Sales agent Charissa at Sleep Country Kanata/Orleans is amazing!
I went to several Sleep Country stores in the Ottawa area. I was not happy with the customer experience, until I visited the Kanata location, where we met Charissa. She was absolutely amazing! I have a very bad back after a car accident, and she took the time to understand me needs, and helped me chose a bed that would suit my current needs. She is knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and has an engaging personality. She works at the Orleans location also. I totally recommend you asking for her by name when you visit Sleep Country! Going forward, I will only ask for Charissa.
Abysmal
Abysmal. I waited 2 and a half months for my refund, went in store to ask about it several times, called several times, and in the end they told me they couldn’t give me the refund they promised me.
Adjustable Bed Frame
We purchased an adjustable bed frame for our mother with a chronic health condition, hoping to help her with adjusting the head and the foot of the bed, to get out of the bed easier. They delivered the product at the charge of 99$ on June 14 2026. Thankfully our mother was in Kelowna to visit my sister. So, we took advantage of that timing to clean and prepare her bedroom, with the brand new mattress ( by Costco) and the adjustable bed frame by Sleep Country. The first night we got the frame, I slept on the bed, as I got up in middle of the night to use the bathroom, when I returned to bed, the head of the adjustable bed frame was up; as I mildly adjusted it, the head of the bed dropped, the mattress shifted to the opposite side of where I was sleeping, and my tailbone hit the metal portion. I was in extreme level of pain, we thought I might have fractured my hip, we ended up going to Emergency Dept. We were there for more than 10hrs, to do the X-ray and MD's examination. Thankfully I hadn't fractured, but if this happened to my mother, she would have had a hip fracture 100%. The next day, I contacted the Customer Service of Sleep Country; they were so unfriendly, rude, and showed no empathy. They kept refusing to return the product and to refund our money which is not a cheap item, it's almost 1700$ including the delivery. They took me into circles, from one customer service agent to the next, then to their manager, then after refusing and denying all my complaints about this product, and the fact that I got large black blue bruises with pictures on my buttock and hip area, they still refused and told me to call and speak to the salesperson who sold the product to me. When I called the sales person, I explained to him everything that happened to us; he promised after sending an examiner / inspector team, if defective , they would refund us. I accepted for their team to inspect the product; they found a defective burnt wire; I called the salesperson back; and he passed the buck again to the customer service and stated that he will not be able to refund me despite the defective merchandise; he totally denied everything that had initially said and promised. I called back again to the customer service, and still they have not refunded us to this date June 25 2026, and they have not picked up the defective item from the middle of our living room. Do not purchase anything from Sleep Country; they have no empty, no work ethics, with all empty promises. They are just there waiting to get your money, their products are not a high , not even an average quality as they claim.
Nader Simo
Nader Simo, the manager of the Sleep Country store on Wicksteed Avenue (Toronto), was excellent in helping us in the process of finding a new bed. It was a major purchase for us and with his undivided attention and excellent product knowledge, he answered all our questions to help us pick out the best mattress and bed style for our needs.
The one week wait for delivery was worth it, and that day went very well too with the 2 courteous and hard-working men that took away our old mattress and box springs, and set up the new pieces.
Overall, making our new purchase from Sleep Country was a positive experience. Yes...it was expensive, but so far my husband's and my (elderly) bodies are very pleased with our choice and have peace of mind with the great warrantees that are an extra back-up.

I would not recommend buying a mattress…
I would not recommend buying a mattress from Sleep Country Canada based on my recent experience.
My partner and I decided to purchase locally and support a Canadian company rather than buying online, as we had done in the past. In February 2026 we visited our local Sleep Country store, tested several mattresses, and purchased one that seemed comfortable in-store. Unfortunately, after sleeping on it for a few nights, it became clear that it was not a good fit. The mattress was much softer than expected, felt lumpy, retained heat despite being marketed as having very good cooling features, and left me waking up with back pain and numb arms.
Since we had invested a significant amount of money, we decided to use the Comfort Exchange program. What should have been a straightforward process turned into weeks of back-and-forth phone calls. At one point, we were even told that our exchange period had expired, despite the fact that we had initiated the process well within the required timeframe and were simply waiting for Sleep Country to respond.
Eventually, we were approved for the exchange and returned to the store to explore alternatives. The salesperson identified only three mattresses that fit our needs. Two of them were priced at approximately $4,000 and $5,000 roughly double what we had originally spent—and the third was immediately uncomfortable. In other words, there were effectively no suitable exchange options available at a comparable price point.
When I raised this concern, I was directed to Customer Relations. Customer Relations then directed me back to the store. After multiple calls, I was told my case would be escalated to a manager, who would contact me within 24–72 hours. No one ever called. Six days later, I followed up myself and was informed that a manager had reviewed the file and denied my request. No explanation was provided, and no one felt it necessary to communicate that decision directly to me.
What has been most disappointing is not the mattress itself—comfort is subjective—but the lack of accountability and customer service throughout the process. Sleep Country heavily promotes its Comfort Exchange program, but my experience has been that if there are no reasonable replacement options within your price range, the program offers very little value.
After spending thousands of dollars, I am now in the position of either keeping a mattress that causes discomfort or paying thousands more for a replacement. That is not what I expected when purchasing from a company that promotes customer satisfaction and sleep comfort as core values.
I regret not purchasing online, where many retailers offer more flexible return policies and a significantly better customer experience. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be purchasing from Sleep Country again.
Very late delivery
Very late delivery. Waited all afternoon and called after 4 hours. Both customer service and my sales rep said they would get back to me with an update on when delivery would finally happen. Neither of them ever called back.
Horrible customer service and company
Bought a mattress from them had it for a year and it started sagging. Had a technician in that admitted too it sagging. Sleep country denied my mattress claim due too an apparently having a stain on the mattress even though there wasn't. I told the customer service guy I was on the phone with there was no stain and he said yes there is stop arguing with me. I told him I would never buy a mattress from them every again. They told me too have a good day and hung up on me. Worst customer service and company ever.
I am writing this review about the…
I am writing this review about the Sleep Country location in Strawberry Hill, Surrey, based on my personal experience.
This was our first time purchasing a mattress from Sleep Country. We relied heavily on the sales representative’s recommendations and tested several mattresses in the showroom. However, it’s difficult to know if a mattress is truly right for your body after only a few minutes of testing in a store.
Initially, we were happy with our purchase. Unfortunately, after about two months, a spring manufacturing defect appeared in the mattress. When we contacted Sleep Country, we were required to pay an additional $75 pickup fee. We then had to return to the showroom and select another mattress because we did not want to experience the same issue again.
What disappointed me most was the customer service at this location. I do not wish to mention any employee by name, but my experience felt very sales-focused rather than customer-focused. Whenever we asked questions about different products, the responses were often based on the representative’s personal experience, such as “I’ve used this mattress for five years” or “My friend has this one and loves it.” It seemed like every mattress recommendation was based on what the salesperson, their family, or their friends supposedly owned. We felt pressured to make a purchase rather than being guided to the best option for our needs.
We eventually purchased another mattress for over $2,000. Within the first few months, I began experiencing back pain, but I never suspected the mattress was the cause. After two to three years, I contacted customer service and explained my concerns. They provided measurement guidelines and asked me to submit details about the mattress. After reviewing the information, they concluded that the mattress met their specifications and that there was nothing wrong with it. Although it was sinking in from left and right side of the mattress but not from the centre and the details they ask is for the centre area of the mattress. The weird part is that they make us do there job and we still pay for it. It’s really strange how a business is operated in this way.
I accepted their response at the time, but the pain continued. I contacted them again later and received the same answer and thought I am not going to waste my time in this anymore. Eventually, I sought professional help through physiotherapy and was advised that the mattress was likely contributing to my back problems and should be replaced as soon as possible.
I also purchased a mattress from IKEA for approximately $500, and it has been far more comfortable and problem-free for me and my family it’s almost been 5 years.
My advice to anyone shopping for a mattress is not to rely solely on brand names or a salesperson’s personal recommendations. Carefully review the store’s warranty, return, exchange, and customer service policies before making a purchase. A higher price or the brand name does not always guarantee better comfort or value.
@sleepcountry if you would like to come up with the solutions contact me and do not expect me to do your job and pay you for that.
Also your mattress protector which was one of the expensive one we purchased it for the same mattress it did not protect the mattress at all.
Sleep country is all about sales but…
Sleep country is all about sales but unable to satisfy customer when warranty issues need to addressed.
My original purchase was replaced and turned out be used which was unacceptable. Our backs paid the price. Called warranty dept and followed proceedure and never got further than level 3 of 5. They are a nightmare to deal with and the cost to date was 2600$ and have to buy again ..but not from these crooks.
Extremely Poor and Lazy Customer Service
My elderly aunt purchased a Casper bed/pillows etc. 2.5 years ago. I have to say that the service was top notch at the time. The salesperson was very knowledgeable, polite and went over and above to assist my aunt in making a final decision on her purchase (Alex). She has been very happy with the bed until about 7-8 months ago! During this period we have contacted customer service multiple times to see if they could send a technician out to her retirement home in Markham….. to no avail!
My aunt is a 89 year old senior, barely ambulatory, and she was advised each time, along with several pages of instructions to basically fix the problem herself, and that Sleep Country Canada would not be sending out a technician. She has a 10 year warranty on the bed base and wants to call it. She has also been sent a package containing a new remote control without really knowing what the problem is, which has largely been ignored by her.
As her niece, I am shocked and dismayed that a company with the ‘supposed good reputation’ like SCC, ignores customer requests. My aunt purchased a large and expensive ticket item from your store, and now cannot receive the help that she needs! It has certainly changed my opinion of this company, and I now know not to purchase anything from SCC. My aunt now has many sleepless nights, as the bed cannot be adjusted and there is no-one to help. We are at the point now where we believe this issue will never be resolved!
Shame on you SCC!
ZERO STARS!
If I could, I would give them ZERO stars. We purchased an Optimum king size mattress for our RV in 2016 for over $2,000 which started seriously failing after about 8 years. In 2015, we began to attempt a claim under the 10-year full warranty. Because of winter storage, we couldn't provide the pictures they requested until this spring. After completing the forms and sending the pictures, I was on the phone with them several times, because every time I sent more pictures, I got another email saying it wasn't enough. Every time I called, I got more excuses. Then they wanted me to pay for someone to look at the mattress! The pictures were very clear that the mattress was sagging badly, but otherwise pristine. We had previously bought 5 [queen] mattresses and box springs from them, and were not expecting this kind of aggravation. Obviously they don't value loyal customers. The mattress has become so awful that we purchased elsewhere to replace it, and this useless piece is on its way to the dump. Yes, we finally said forget it, which is exactly what they wanted, but it just wasn't worth it. Looking at these reviews, they shouldn't even be in business, but who knew. The people in the stores are nice, but buyer beware! I wish these reviews would have been available when we bought our first mattress there.
Paid high price for a damaged mattres
Honestly, this is probably my fault after being sleep deprived and stressed from the previous terrible mattress and travel. I purchased a mattress that someone else had returned and supposedly received a reduced rate but the mattress had stains. It was part of the 100 days return, and I had returned the old mattress and exchanged for this one. I reported the stains to sleep country after delivery but they said they couldnt do anything about it until the delivery folks were back at the warehouse. I though you know what, whatever this mattress is comfortable and I can finally sleep, plus I still had travel to do. Months later, I’m cleaning my mattress cover and discover more stains at the bottom where my feet are (because I didn’t want to sleep on that side). I suspect there were multiple stains initially and oxidized with time and they have all re-appeared. The salesperson sold the mattress to me for at least 2000$. The principle of it angers me but at least I can sleep and decide to forget it. That said, i’m never going back again for my next purchase.
