Sicily by Car Reviews 

I am a Sicily by car customer. This time I picked up the car in Rome Ciampino and there were two long scratches on the door of the fiat panda. I went back to the counter and the guy told me it was all good to go. I am Italian and I know these tricks so I took pictures. When I returned the car in Rome Fiumicino the damages were not recorded. Luckily I took pictures !! This is misleading the customers

Easy pickup and return

We have used Sicily by Car a few times. We think it is better to pay a bit more to get a site next to the airport where you can pick up the car easily and there are no hidden extra costs. The car and service were all fine.

You are simply good: fast, efficient and friendly. That's all.

Smooth pick-up, no unnecessary pressure for insurance up-sales (had 3rd party full coverage), got better car than expected, no return issues.

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

We booked and fully prepaid our rental car weeks in advance. We arrived on time, with all the required booking documents, expecting to collect the vehicle. Instead, we were told that our valid Ukrainian driver’s license was not accepted, and the company refused to hand over the car.

No alternative solution was offered. No attempt was made to help us. We were simply left without a vehicle at the beginning of our vacation.

Even worse, although Sicily by Car refused to provide the service, they kept a significant part of our payment. We paid around €400 and received only a partial refund. Paying hundreds of euros for a car you never receive is simply unacceptable.

As a result, we lost money, wasted several hours of our vacation looking for another rental company, and experienced unnecessary stress in a foreign country.

If your company has restrictions regarding certain driver’s licenses, this information should be made absolutely clear before customers pay. Customers should not discover this only after arriving at the rental desk.

I cannot recommend Sicily by Car to anyone. There are many other rental companies that value their customers and treat them fairly. We will never book with Sicily by Car again.

Good car , easy to find the desk.

On your site we booked an Alfa Romeo or similar car. We god a Jeep, which is far from an Alfa Romeo. I find this as a quite misleading advertisement.

Do not hesitate to rent your car from this agency. I rented this year and last year from the office in Siracusa (Corso Umberto). It was a great and hassle free experience both on pick up and return. I highly recommend. The manager is kind and very nice to deal with.

The staff at checkin was very friendly and found a car that met our needs exactly. The car was very good and check out was quick and hassle free.

Pick up and drop off of most rentals is in the rental center 500 meters away from the terminal. The shuttle goes every 20 minutes, the walk is 10 minutes.

Very disappointing experience.
The car was delivered with less fuel than agreed. I immediately reported this to the employee at pick-up, took a photo, and was instructed to return the car with the same fuel level.
At drop-off I again informed the staff, showed the photo, and the vehicle was accepted without any remarks. I signed the return documents confirming everything was in order.
Two days later, Sicily by Car charged my card for an alleged fuel shortage without any prior notification or explanation.

We were a group of nine people. We made our reservation **five months in advance**, paid everything upfront, and purchased full insurance and every available protection.

Before the pick-up date, I emailed the agency several times to make sure everything was in order. My final email was sent the night before our arrival.

You can imagine my shock when we arrived at the Bergamo Airport desk the next morning and were simply told that **our vehicle was not available**.

I asked the employee to provide an alternative vehicle. She told me to send an email. So I did - several times. No reply.

I asked her to call her colleagues and help us resolve the situation. She refused, saying it was not her responsibility. I genuinely could not believe what was happening.

I then insisted that she at least give us a phone number we could call. She literally dictated the same number shown on the agency’s website.

So I called. After waiting for around ten minutes, I finally reached a real person. The woman struggled to communicate in English, told me that I had called the wrong number, and then simply **hung up**.

After more than an hour of completely useless interactions, we had no choice but to rent a vehicle from another company. Of course, all the benefits of booking and paying five months in advance were gone, and we were left dealing with the stress and additional cost at the very last moment.

No vehicle. No alternative. No meaningful assistance. Not even a sincere attempt to help.

Based on our experience, **stay away from Sicily by Car**. This was one of the worst and most unacceptable rental experiences I have ever had. It honestly felt like a scam.

Everything worked excellently

We booked a FIAT Panda but got a brand new Skoda Fabia. It was a great car and the pick-up and drop-off where bot smooth and quick!

Very bad experience !
Not only was the car ordered not the one we had (not even the same category! No, we had to bear a baggage on our legs!) But in addition the person of the agency was extremely unpleasant or even aggressive with us. Never again!

Avoid this company.

My flight details were provided in advance and Sicily by Car confirmed they had them. I arrived at the desk shortly after my flight landed, but the car was refused with no flexibility and no real assistance.

I was then given different explanations about why the rental was refused, making the whole experience confusing and frustrating. I paid for a service that I never received and was left stranded at the airport.

This was one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had. I will never book with Sicily by Car again.
