It's fine, they're trustworthy and get stuff done. However, their interface is not very modern, and also they made me pay 2x rent as deposit because I've not been in the country for 2 years. Usually you don't have to do that and competitor websites also manage without deposits.

I chose Samtrygg specifically for their "Safe Rental" guarantee, but the service failed completely. Samtrygg breached their own Terms (Term 8.20) by releasing my payment to the landlord immediately instead of holding it for the required 15 days.

When the apartment proved uninhabitable due to hygiene issues (dirty mattress and bathroom), Samtrygg admitted on the phone that they couldn't enforce a full refund because the money was already gone—a direct result of their breach.

I am currently out 1,121 SEK (rent for initial days) despite never moving in. Samtrygg refuses to refund this remaining balance, falsely claiming they have already refunded the "whole amount."

To make matters worse, the landlord cleaned the apartment the very next day and rented it to a new tenant within 5 days. Since the initial uninhabitable condition was his fault, he should assume the loss for those few days—not me. Instead, I am effectively paying to cover his incompetence.

Warning: Their "Safety Guarantee" is meaningless if they don't follow it. Because they release funds early, you are left at the landlord's mercy to get your money back if something goes wrong. Think twice before risking using Samtrygg.

There is a discrepancy in your reply. You stated below that the "full amount" has been refunded, but that is not the case.
I paid a total of 7,130.00 SEK but have only received 6,008.75 SEK.
The remaining 1,121.25 SEK is still missing. This amount corresponds to the initial days of the contract. I could not stay in the apartment during this time due to its uninhabitable condition. I am essentially being charged for these days because Samtrygg breached Term 8.20 and released the funds early, removing the protection I paid for. The reason for this breach was never explained.

The people at Samtrygg were very helpful in finding potential apartments for me when new ones were available.

All prodedures are made difficult for international customers. Without a Swedish social security no, you have to phone customer service to get guided thru payment options. Also the ‘no deposit’ service is only for Swedish customers. I had to pay 2 months deposit. Finally, they kept sending me bills after I payed and sent them the receipt. It’s been two days since I’ve complained about this and no response. As an international customer you pay a lot extra to rent and get nothing back but in inconvenience.

I am a foreigner looking for apartment before entering Sweden and Samtrygg is the company I would strongly recommend.
1. Web site is easy to use with English translation. Contains information or link needed. One little suggestion is to have more detail of the options for foreigner who have not yet received their Personal Number and Bank ID.
2. Probably the most user friendly company /website for foreigner, as options are available through out the renting process.
3. Customer service and Rental Agent are very friendly and have been very supportive providing detail answer to questions, guidance and assistance throughout the process.
