Have used them twice, and the second time had a very bad experience with Gulvkanonen.

They delivered a product that was below par - uneven finish and splotchy areas. Contacted them to come back and fix it and received an appointment. The person did not show up as scheduled. I made another appointment, and insisted on a discount for the trouble. We agreed on a 10% discount that I never had refunded after several phone calls.

The work eventually got finished, but not to a high standard. Their own employee explained that they are usually two people on one job, but that they have reduced it to one person and they cannot deliver a good product with the time they are given for the job.

It was good job they have done for my floors.

Worst experience EVER, and poor customer service
We had a great first experience with Gulvkanonen in the past. So when we bought our new home, we immediately thought of them, given the consequent price for the sanding and protection. But that was the worst decision that we are now experiencing every day. We agreed on a service with them. We asked to sand the parquet then protect the floor. We asked to have the same rendering as before (dark wood) + a layer that would protect the floor for years like in our previous service. They asked for 2 days. But after one day I got the message that the job was done.

Result: dark spots on the floor, wrong finition (natural instead of dark wood). Apparently it was a misunderstanding on the result that we were expecting. (sure)

When we asked about the dark spots, they did not even want to see it by themselves, and claimed that it was impossible to remove.

Then they became very insistent to be paid.
months later, we started to notice dark spots in the kitchen and around the dinning area. When mentioned it to them, they claimed (still without asking to see it themselves) that the guaranty isn't working since they did not feel responsible for the dark spots.

So we paid DKK 21 500,00, for a result that is worst than before, with an obvious lack of accountability & bad faith.

So if you want to make sure to renovate your parquet, avoid Gulvkanonen AT ALL COST
Otherwise you will loose your money and even worse get a very bad quality in return

Very well executed. Hard working foreman. Very knowledgeable. Yes it’s dusty but much less than I expected.
We tried to do it on our own…, still nothing beats the professional.. it’s such a difference . Result is very beautiful and we are very happy. Thank you

I've got a service from them for sanding the floor of our house, and they did a great job!

cannot recommend for several reasons
1) when I agreed on a sanding job, they offered to upgrade the floor lacque for extra price. when I said no, they offered again an upgrade at a lower price. twice! when I told them I was annoyed and wanted to cancel the job, the offered me the lacque upgrade for free. when the worker came, he told us the new laque would have had a different color than planned, so it was a bad choice.
2) the worker did mostly a good job, but left a hole in the floor, where the sanding had damaged some planks that were previously fixed. the worker didn't say anything, just left it as a surprise. the company still expected us to pay full price. they said they don't cover holes. so they don't fix their own mistakes. if they scratch your floor, they will not cover it. beware.

Upon complaint a second layer of sealant was added. With this the job was done well, but it needed to be asked for and extra time alloted for a second visit.

The job was done quickly and very well!

Stay away from this company.
They charge a price higher than most. Spam you with upselling before agreed date for work to commence. Worker was Late, when you call them you reach a central office that has no idea what is going on, and does not seem interested in helping you. Finally when worker arrives, he gives recommendation on how to prepare floor, then he wants to leave to finish another task, and asks if he can come back later, even though this was not what was agreed with the sales person originally. Then he doesn't come back as agreed, and I have been working from home while it was not needed at all. The next day I call the company again, and they tell me they are trying to figure something out. I ask for a reduction in price due to the lack of service confusion caused by gulvkanonen, they say they give some but exact amount needs to agreed with boss who is first in the office on monday, so i will have to wait. I don't hear back from them. I call them back in the afternoon and then they say that there can be a worker there in an hour if I am interested. I rush home early from work to meet the worker. The new worker tells me that the recommendation from the first worker, is wrong and he cannot use the preparation for anything, and it actually will make the finished result worse. He then sands the floor and applies lacquer, and leaves while it is wet and drying. I receive an invoice on the full amount without any discount and a request to pay on mail with a deadline within two days. I call office and again and ask about invoice, am told to disregard it and await for a new one on monday (this was saturday, deadline for original invoice is sunday). I go to inspect the work done as the floor is now dried, and I see that it is riddled with mistakes:
- All over the floor large scratches are notably visible under the lacquer
- Floor surface is rough all over, caused by woodgrain rise that has not been sanded down.
- Visible spots on the floor where sandind has not reached through original finish, leaving dark areas.
I send images of the floor to gulvkanonen and the reply I get from is rude and it does not even seem like they have looked at the images I have sent. Then they ask me what I want them to do about it ? finally they ask if I want to have a new worker come and look at it it. I tell them yes and we arrange a new time. The agreed time passes and no one shows up. I send a mail to them telling them that I don't want to be treated like this and that I will find another company that can sand my floor. I have not heard back from them, and they have not even replied my last mail. Since then I have received multiple automatic mail-request to pay the first invoice which I was told to ignore. I have replied to all the request, but no person has replied to me since. In the request they are also threatening with moving the payment to inkasso even after first notification.

Update: gulvkanonen insists that I owe them money for the first time they worked on the floor. They kept sending me mails requesting I pay.

I received a call from another person from gulvkanonen, he started by asking if I wanted to tell him about why I have had a bad experience. I start explaining. Before I have told the whole experience, he interrupts me, cuts to the chase and offers me that they will stop asking me for money if I remove this review from trustpilot. I tell him I don’t owe them money and that they cannot make me remove my review.

What a terrible company. I hired Gulvkanonen to sand and finish the floors in my Frederiksberg apartment.

When their employee showed up he had very old equipment. At first the machine worked and he sanded a big patch of floor in the living room. Then the machine stopped working and the company refused to continue until we hired an electrician to fix the supposed defects in our electrical grid. At that point, the employee simply left.

We quickly contacted another company to ask about the electrical issue. They came to the apartment free of charge to see if their newer machine worked by connecting it to a wall socket. It worked fine -- so the second company took over the job and finished it with no electrical problems whatsoever.

Despite leaving a huge sanded patch in our floor and using equipment that was defective, Gulv Kanonen tried to charge me a few thousand kroner for their "work" -- primarily their employee helping me for less than five minutes to move a bed and table around. The company has repeatedly texted and called me, and this morning one of their employees threatened that I "can either answer the phone or expect a visit from us." That is completely unacceptable.

I have had generally good experiences with tradespeople in Copenhagen. This was the exception.

Had floors sanded and refreshed in our summerhouse. The service with GulvKanonen were excellent. Great responsive customer service, reliable, great advice and well done job on site. House was left clean and as wished for. No problems at all. Would chose them again without a hesitation

I chose Gulvkanonen due to their fast and detailed responses as well as a thorough cost estimate for 80sqm of floor sanding and a matt paint finish of historic floor boards and stairs from 1920 murermestervilla.

Everything went super smooth. They were on time, fast (4 days), and the floors look amazing. Also they cleaned up everything and left the house in great condition.

I can fully recommend choosing Gulvkanonen.

We recently went through a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Gulvkanonen regarding a sanding job that was poorly executed. Initially, we hired them with the expectation of professional craftsmanship (after all they have really good ratings on trustpilot). However we faced several issues that made our experience incredibly frustrating.

The job itself was executed poorly, with circular scratches on the surfaces, visible imperfections, and areas where dark spots that were not there prior were present. We were unsure whether this was the normal outcome of such job, so we asked an expert from another company to review the work. This person concluded that the job was not of high quality, and that a polish would not be sufficient to make the dark spots go, but that the only solution was a full re-sanding.

After expressing our concerns to the Gulvkanonen team, they argued that there was a conflict of interests at play, and asked to send an expert from their side. We agreed so they sent one of their colleagues. He agreed that the job was not of high quality and that only a full re-sanding would fix our floors. He took pictures and left.

He called 5 minutes later, stating that he had talked to somebody at Gulvkanonen and was instructed to come back and polish the floors. We were very surprised by this and declined the offer. We were left wondering if he was being pressured to implement a solution that didn’t align with his professional evaluation (this is not an accusation, but it’s how the situation appeared to us).

At this point Gulvkanonen suggested we need a third opinion. This not only came across like a waste of our collective time, but also raised serious concerns about the integrity of their work, as we had no guarantees that the next person wouldn’t be “prepped” on what to tell us.

After that the communication became increasingly vague and evasive. Given that at this point we cannot really trust that there is not a conflict of interest on Gulvkanonen’s side, we requested a full refund as we would need to find another company to do a full re-sanding at full cost.

In their latest response, it was reiterated that they will not provide a refund for the inadequate services rendered, offering only 500 DKK as compensation. This is not only insulting, but it also demonstrates a total disregard for the significant investment we've made—16,500 DKK—that will now need to be entirely spent again if we want to have our floors done. To put it bluntly, 500 DKK represents a 3% of our payment, which is completely inadequate given the circumstances.

Additionally, it is only now that we’ve noticed concerning reviews on the site "Anmeld-haandvaerker", where Gulvkanonen has received an average score of only 1.8 out of 5. It seems we are not alone in facing these disappointing service levels, and it’s evident that our experience is part of a larger pattern of issues. We urge potential customers to consider this feedback before hiring.

We understand that the company is within its rights to protect itself from fraudulent claims; however, we are simply customers who have received subpar work and have taken every necessary step and provided all evidence to resolve it. We paid their invoice straight away in good faith, yet here we stand facing almost two months of frustration over an issue that should have been handled promptly and professionally.

Do not be in our position! I urge anybody to consider to use a company that provides a formal satisfaction guarantee in written. We can at this point state with certainty that this is a company extremely comfortable with keeping the money of an very dissatisfied customer.

It’s our hope that this review will prompt a serious reconsideration of our case. We collectively deserve better as clients who have trusted Gulvkanonen to deliver quality workmanship.

PS. As addendum, in our last communication it was brought up that the way to ensure Gulvkanonen’s rights was to go through mediation with the authorities. We do not intent to violate any rights, so we are OK with proceeding that way. A possible outcome is that the conclusion is that they will be given the chance to re-do the job. Again, Gulvkanonen is very comfortable with this scenario despite the fact that we have made it extremely clear (several times) that we do not want to work with them any longer, and we do not trust them to be in our home again. I urge everybody to consider whether this is the type of partner you want to entrust with such critical step as you move to a new home.
