Excellent Customer Service

I just want to comment on the excellent customer service I received from BNZ via phone yesterday. They are not my main bank, I have been using them as a second bank. I did not have to wait long for a response but had problems with my phone as it had linked on my PC and kept disconnecting. The exceptionally pleasant Rep (I think her name was Kate) phoned me back (other companies have not done this when the same problem occurred) and her patience with several glitches, was phenomenal.

Worst bank ever - BNZ

BNZ, you are getting 1 start rating only because there is no option to give you ZERO starts. Absolutely DISSAPOINTING, FRUSTRATING, HOPELESS customer service. Save yourself a horrible experience - stay away from this bank.

We have authority to act for a client…

We have authority to act for a client and BNZ are the equal worst to deal with. All other main banks, with having authority to act we can get a clients basic statements an balances. Wasted half an hour getting no where despite 4 months earlier having BNZ provide the needed information as I then had the right information. Nothing changed at my end

No thanks to your app

I’d like to make payments to new payees from the bnz website. I don’t want another app.
I am unable to email the bank from their own website or use my Visa card because I must authorise through their app. No thanks!

My grandmother passed away without a…

My grandmother passed away without a will. My father is trying to get access to her bank records because we have serious concerns that her other children were defrauding her. We need their permission to be granted access, of course they have said no. The BNZ fraud team have said we still can’t access her records without their consent. Bloody stupid. We don’t have the money to pay lawyers or go to court. Disgusting treatment from BNZ.

Poor experience trying to deal with BNZ

Frankly dealing with BNZ is not a good experience. In the process of cancelling a credit card and reissuing another one, the operator just 'forgot' to issue another one so I am totally inconvenienced by the bank. Seriously poor service BNZ - please catch a wake up.

I do not like dealing with this bank…

I do not like dealing with this bank for any of the business related transactions. The bank is vague and it takes multiple, time consuming attempts to get even simple things done (like adding one of the credit cards that I opened to my online portal)

An excellent personal and attentive customer service.

I opened an account at BNZ in 2017 whilst on vacation primarily to save as interest rates in the UK were at 0.05% on an ISA, whereas in NZ they were 8%.

I also opened a holiday fund so I could you use it when I returned, which I have done 4 more times and this February I return again, but unfortunately this will be our last time.

So to get all my eggs in one basket so that I can use my money and transfer it all into a daily account, I have used the BNZ app and then they emailed me. Cici at the Northwest branch in Auckland has been absolutely fabulous, she has arranged everything, including sending me a visa debit card so I don’t need to take money from
the UK.

It’s really odd, I can get a response and talk to someone in a bank at the other end of the world over 18,000 away and arrange things, I can’t even phone directly to my bank in the UK or get a direct email address!

Now all set for our months camper vacation in NZ. A special thank you to Cici. 🙏

Not safe

You got scammed? It’s on you.
Someone used your cloned debit card ? It’s on you
Mortgage rates through the roof and they are not fixed so any day your payments can double , just like mine : from $4290 to $7917

40 years a customer of BNZ

40 years a customer of BNZ. They used to be a great bank that provided great customer service.
That is all gone now.
They seem to take any and every opportunity to obstruct and create difficulties, there is no common sense or logic. Do yourself a huge favour and choose a different bank.

Good quality bank.

They are reliable and great to deal with and have helped me get finance when the odds were stacked against me but I really needed it and I have repaid my loan almost and have had a good experience of this bank.

Worst bank in nz hands down

Worst bank in nz hands down. Really equated technology and processes. Customer satisfaction is not a priority only profits. Don’t bother complaining as nothing gets resolved. Everytime I deal with BNZ, I found myself not getting the assistance I needed.

Mortgage experience was smooth and…

Mortgage experience was smooth and efficient. I may have got lucky, however I had all the information ready and the BNZ staff were incredibly helpful and appreciative that I put the effort in to make sure things would go smoothly. Things were processed on time and quickly, giving me the confidence to put the offer in on the house I was looking to buy. Awesome work all round. Some areas for improvement in terms of their overall banking features, but generally are good to work with.

Customer service

Kia Ora koutou, I now live in Australia but still keep my BNZ accounts, recently our cards were sent out to us and never arrived. We had updated our contact details earlier but our alternative address in NZ was still listed.
I rang BNZ overseas contact and spoke to Tania within minutes, she was amazing, understanding and helpful, from there we spoke to Akbah (not the comedian and puppet), he was very helpful and sorted all contact updates. Very very pleased to give this review as in Australia we have so many issues with customer service at banks. Well done BnZ, ngā Manaakitanga, Steve….
