Excellent product for Prehab, strength training, and rehab! I have been using this consistently for two weeks to build my VMO, which has not been firing properly because of swelling in my knee. I am headed into a knee replacement in a couple of months and trying to maintain as much muscle as possible to improve my recovery time. The Sport 3.0 has exactly what I need to accomplish the goal of muscle development and recovery. This was an easy transaction and quickly shipped and received!

I purchased 2 Compex units 3 years ago. The SP-8 wireless and the wired SP-2, in 2 different transactions. Being a physical therapist, I use electro stimulation on a regular basis with some of my customers, for physical rehabilitation and training as well.
When I purchased these 2 units, I registered for the extended warranty, which was confirmed to me for both units, meaning instead of getting a 3-year warranty the units benefit a so-called 5-year warranty. I was counting on that especially for the wireless SP-8 (I bought the package).
Using the SP-8 wireless I soon realized that the technology was not at its best: the programs are good but the pods are heavy and therefore I could only use that wireless system in supine positions etc. Anyhow the point here is that right from the start I was questioning my decision in regards to the purchase of the SP-8. Which is very expensive by the way.

Several months ago a pod from that SP-8 went defective: the top of the pod simply detached from the body and couldn't be fixed back on. I wrote to their customer service and was asked to send the pod back to their offices for repair, along with the documents relevant to the extended warranty. I did that, at the cost of 25$ of postage... mind you, and sent the documents as well.
It took a while to get a feedback. To make a long story short in the past 2 months + I had to write back several times to the person supposedly in charge of repairing the pod. I was finally told, after a long wait, that the pod was not repairable and to send back the documents proving my registration to the extended warranty. Which I did AGAIN.
Since then (in July) nothing. Not a word from Compex. I wrote back this morning, asking for a reply and a resolution to the issue, and was sent back the message (from the same person) that he now believed they do not offer extended warranty on that unit.
Wow.
I am giving all this info in order to help anyone considering the purchase of a Compex. Please give it a second thought before doing so. Their customer service is absolutely careless, incompetent, they simply seem to not give a dam.
The wired SP-2 is ok. But the SP-8 is expensive, very expensive and ... so NOT WORTH IT. And their extended warranty?... is BS.
As far as I'm concerned, working with Compex is over. I will get professional units from other more reliable companies.

Compex Fit 5 – Long-Term User Review

After extensive use on a variety of muscle groups, I feel able to give a balanced assessment of the Compex Fit 5.

The biggest advantages are immediately obvious. The stimulation is noticeably more powerful than the inexpensive EMS units I have previously owned, and the wireless modules provide genuine freedom of movement by eliminating trailing cables. The companion app is also very helpful for identifying correct electrode placement, although it is an information resource rather than a means of controlling the device.

However, there are several areas where the ownership experience falls short of expectations.

* The stimulation is powerful and effective.
* The app is particularly useful for electrode placement and muscle identification.
* Build quality of the modules themselves feels premium.

What could be improved

No electrodes included

The unit is supplied without electrode pads. Buying bulk packs is the most economical solution, but even with discounts this added around €160 to my initial purchase.

Limited programme flexibility

The software only allows the supplied programmes and schedules. There is no facility to create your own routines or alter recommended frequencies. If you prefer to train and perform recovery every day, the software dictates otherwise, regardless of your own experience or recovery.

No backup, cloud or health app integration.

Additional modules become expensive

Several programmes are clearly designed around more than two channels. While not essential, the product is at its best with additional modules, making further investment difficult to avoid.

Electrode comfort

I found the premium electrodes no more comfortable than those supplied with inexpensive Amazon EMS devices. They still produced the same occasional stinging sensation.

Connector design

The small V-shaped snap connector continually places stress on the electrode connection. A more substantial push-fit connector would, in my opinion, provide greater durability.

I also purchased the Compex wraps. While useful, I think they could be improved considerably. A longer, wider adjustable Velcro compression wrap—similar to those used by weightlifters for knees or elbows—would fit more body shapes and secure the modules better than the current design.

Charging dock

The charging unit regularly proved temperamental, requiring the modules to be repositioned before charging would begin.

Overall

The Compex Fit 5 is undoubtedly a superior EMS device compared with the inexpensive units I have previously owned. It delivers more power, better portability and an excellent electrode placement guide.

Whether it represents good value is less straightforward. By the time additional electrode pads, extra modules and replacement accessories are considered, ownership becomes considerably more expensive than the purchase price alone suggests.

This review is not intended to discourage anyone from buying the Compex Fit 5. Rather, it is intended to describe the day-to-day ownership experience beyond the marketing material.

It is also important to acknowledge the limits of my experience. My comparison is between inexpensive consumer EMS devices and the Compex Fit 5. I have not owned every competing premium EMS system, so others may have different experiences. Equally, someone using the device for rehabilitation under professional guidance may value features that are less important to me.

For serious athletes, physiotherapists and committed users who will use EMS several times each week, the Compex Fit 5 is an impressive piece of equipment. For more occasional users, the improvements over a good budget EMS device may not fully justify the significantly higher overall cost.

I purchased a Compex Sport Elite 3.0 Muscle Stimulator on December 17, 2025 through Amazon, for a total of $259.52 including tax. When it was finally time to recharge my device in May (I had knee surgery and was using this to rehab it so I didn’t use it much the past 6 months) I discovered a manufacturing defect: the charging port was missing or non-functional. When inserting the charger, it falls straight through the port with no resistance, and light is visible through the opening — indicating the internal charging port component was never installed or was lost. The unit arrived defective and was never usable. I contacted Compex USA to request a warranty replacement. They initially appeared willing to help and asked me to submit proof of purchase, a photo of the defective unit with serial number, and a description of the issue — all of which I provided. After review, Compex USA denied my replacement request, citing that the unit was purchased from an "unauthorized third-party reseller through Amazon" and that they could not verify how the reseller acquired the product. I then attempted to contact Amazon, but have not received a satisfactory resolution. The return window had already closed (January 31, 2026) by the time Compex USA completed their review and issued their denial. Amazon's own product review section for this item shows a well-documented pattern: 15 out of 16 customer reviews about the charging port are negative, with multiple buyers reporting that their units arrived with broken or missing charging ports — the exact same defect I experienced. This strongly suggests a systemic quality-control issue with units sold through this channel.

Do a quick web search and you’ll see many issues with its charging ports and how they treat customers that seek a warranty replacement. They will literally hang up on you.

Terrible Company. Ordered the same product twice and each time it never processed. Contacted them via email over 10 days with no response and phone number on website does not allow you to speak to anyone. Says it’s not in service and some days it’s keeps you on hold and at ten minutes phone says “GOODBYE” and ends the call. HORRIBLE.

Waited two weeks to find out it’ hasn’t been shipped.

They had a black Friday sale and I also had a coupon code, so rather than delivering what I ordered they just canceled it. Breach of contract.

If I could give a lower score the 1 I would. I purchased the Compex 3.0 elite and got a defective unit which never worked. Claimed the warranty and sent them all the info and packaging etc was approved for the warranty yet they refuse to honour it. Leaving me 500$ in the hole. Worst customer service ever and terrible product. I offered to pay more for an upgrade and send them this unit back they refused and now are just ignoring my emails. Garbage this company is absolute Garbage.

This is Compex. Second to none. So, no surprise; They are professional, efficient, and know their products. I mean, they are universally considered to be THE leader in this field. Their service matches their product quality.

I really like the product, the only reason I have four and not five stars is that you spent more space in product advertisement stuffed inside the case than operating instructions.
