The redhead (my wife and a nurse) loved the socks Santa left in her stocking this year. Not as much as the new smart watch she also got in her stocking, but she squealed with delight when she unwrapped the socks!!!

I wanted to do something different between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year so I surprised the redhead with an online wine probe.
The sturdy box with six bottles inside arrived without mishap and got here rather quickly.
We enjoyed the experience and the redhead suggested we do something like that again sometime.

I just got back from three weeks in Portugal where I did some city sightseeing before walking the Fisherman's Trail (Rota Vicentina coastal route). A couple of those days was like walking on a beach for 20 km up and down hill. Anyway, I wore Seadon's Helios hiking pants with drawcords on the bottom of the pants legs cinched down over my boots and I didn't have so much as a single grain of sand in my boots on a multi-day hike. They dried quickly if they got wet and were a perfect weight for ever changing temperatures in the sun and wind. I'm beyond impressed with them.
Review of Tropicfeel
I've bought four different pairs of TropicFeel shoes to take with me while hiking along the Portuguese coast because there comes a point in every day where you have to take off your hiking boots to either visit the city you chose to stay at or because the beach screamed at you to stop and play awhile.
Each pair have performed exactly as I had hoped they would before leaving Germany. I've gotten more than one compliment about their appearance, but that's not why I keep coming back for more. I love that their products as well as packing materials are sourced from sustainable or recycled materials.

Last year I was looking for lightweight shoes to take on the Camino de Santiago with me and bought a pair of TropicFeel Canyons while at the same time ordering multiple pairs of flip-flops from the name-brand companies y'all know.
This year while getting ready for the Rota Vicentina I discovered TropicFeel also makes flip-flops and they are lighter than anything in the reject pile under my bed. They're going with me!!!

Review of Seadon LLC
I own more pairs of hiking pants than any reasonable person would need so when I saw Seadon's Kickstarter campaign for their Helios hiking pants I jumped at the chance to buy two pairs. I'm so happy I ignored that little voice in my head asking, "How many pairs of hiking pants do I need?" Apparently the answer is two more pairs because these are easily my favorites. They're very light weight and comfortable which is a good thing since I'm taking both pairs with me on the Camino de Santiago in a couple weeks!!!
