Review of Pegasus Publishers
Pegasus operates with a shocking lack of professionalism, technical skill, and integrity. I strongly advise any author to steer clear of this company. They have caused me significant frustration, wasted time, and financial loss.
From the start, the publishing process with Pegasus was slow, inefficient, and poorly managed. Every team took far too long to complete even basic tasks. A two-minute cover change took a full month. Tasks were handled sequentially rather than concurrently, creating constant delays and bottlenecks.
The design work was shockingly unprofessional. Clear instructions were ignored or misunderstood. Full sentences were mistakenly removed from the cover—errors I had to catch myself. I often had to make basic graphic changes on my own, like blurring a background or adjusting a gradient—simple tasks even a beginner could do faster and better. Proofreading was no better: it was slow, lacked substance, and included edits that demonstrated no understanding of the content—plus it introduced new errors.
Many of my authorial requests were outright dismissed. I asked for the Author page to be placed at the end of the book, but it was placed at the beginning and I was not allowed to change it. Pegasus rewrote my blurb entirely without my input and ignored my suggestion to merge both versions. They also refused to publish the book on the dates I had requested.
Communication was patchy and inconsistent. I often went weeks or months without a response, needing to send multiple follow-ups just to get a basic update. I was rarely informed about project progress and had no visibility on where things stood.
Marketing and promotional support was virtually nonexistent, despite what was promised in the contract. There was no visible effort—no podcast outreach, no blog posts, no reviews arranged. I had to take on all promotional responsibilities and expenses myself. Even worse, Pegasus refused to distribute the book on platforms like Kobo or Apple Books, limiting visibility and sales.
Sales transparency was deeply lacking. Despite repeated requests, I never received clear or timely reports. Only when I noticed missing sales and presented proof did Pegasus finally acknowledge the discrepancy. To this day, I still don't trust the numbers they showed me, but I have limited ability to prove exact numbers, so there is not much I can do.
The printing process was also poor. The book cover was printed at low quality, and Pegasus refused to reprint or adjust the design to fix it. I was asked to approve the cover without receiving a physical copy, so I only discovered the problem after the fact—at which point they refused any changes. It took over five months for my first 200 copies to arrive, and they even attempted to overcharge me for shipping.
Throughout the entire process, they consistently refused to take responsibility for mistakes or offer compensation. My post-publishing support requests have also been denied. I seriously cannot recommend Pegasus to any author. Steer clear.

Review of CV Auckland
This company is posing as a NZ company but it is NOT. Check your invoice - no valid IRD number (a legal requirement for NZ invoices). No NZBN - New Zealand Business Number. The 09 phone number is shared across a number of SCAM businesses, for example Book Publishers NZ, Easy Writer NZ, and Logo Design NZ. Reviews are clearly fake (just read them, no one talks like that). Lies, stalling techniques and very poor quality work involved. NZ Police has confirmed they are a scam company - you can easily verify this.
Review of Book Publishers
FRAUD ALERT: They claim to be a New Zealand-based publishing company, but they are NOT - it’s a scam operation pretending to be local. The police has confirmed this, feel free to call them.
I was promised full publishing and marketing services in 2 weeks. Three months later: nothing delivered. Just lies, stalling, and laughably poor quality mock-ups when they did send anything.
They took my money under false pretences, used a NZ phone number that’s tied to multiple shady businesses, faked a NZ address, faked NZ invoices, and only admitted they weren’t in NZ when I pushed them. When I demanded a refund (which they had promised if I wasn’t satisfied), they ignored me. I had to report them to the police.
Trustpilot needs to investigate this company and remove the obviously fake 5-star reviews. Avoid Book Publishers NZ at all costs.
P.S. They are making it a strategy to respond to the real (negative) reviews saying they haven't worked with that person. That's part of the SCAM. My name is Catia Batalha, I am very easy to find online as I'm a registered psychotherapist in NZ, and I can send proof of all this to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic. Incredible variety of Yoga practices, including asana, meditation, pranayama, kriyas, yamas/niyamas, nidra, etc. Encompasses a number of modalities, such as Kundalini, Hatha, Tantra, etc. Also has multiple adjacent traditions/sciences such as Ayurveda, Psychology, Qigong, etc. Has video classes as well as articles with a wide variety of incredibly useful information. Deeply grateful <3
