Review of Argus Car Hire

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Never use this company- EVER!

This company's customer service is a joke.
I hired a vehicle by OK mobility in Crete. On arrival, they gave me a far inferior vehicle to the one ordered. I then found out it had loads of faults making it unsafe to drive.
I complained to Argus, who gave me a wrong contact number for the company. So I wasted a day of my holiday chasing wrong numbers.
On returning home I provided a detailed complaint with a copy of my rental agreement, I received no feedback, unless I specifically chased it. Then after about 6 weeks they resolved the case saying you hired the vehicle, thats the end. No reference to the wrong vehicle or the faults or that I couldn't use the car. The hire company even provided a fraudulent hire agreement and I still have the original. Argus did nothing in response to this.
The customer service is pathetic as is their complaints process.
I will never use them ever again, and nor should you. They take your money and offer no follow up service. You might as well book direct with the hire companies.

Dear Jay Byrne,
I am truly sorry to hear about the extremely frustrating experience you had with your car rental and our customer service. It is very concerning to learn about the issues with the vehicle provided, the difficulties you faced trying to resolve them, and the subsequent handling of your complaint. I understand your disappointment and anger, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and stress this caused during your holiday.
Stay safe,

Minimum speeds constantly not met

Ive been with plusnet for almost 2 years. The whole time, the speeds have been intermittent. Im paying for 500Mb with minimum of 275Mb guaranteed.
However speeds are regularly in the range of 50-90Mb. Have contacted plusnet many times about this, first time sent a new router, next time tried changing channel settings, next time they sent an engineer who confirmed wifi signal was up and down, on speaking to their team, they told him that I should plug directly in to the router with an ethernet cable and monitor the speeds for 2 weeks.
Who's got the time for that? At the end of the day, I should get a minimum of 275Mb and im getting nowhere near that and often don't.
Plusnet show no real sign of actually wanting to resolve this issue.

Company Lummy, scams galore

This company a scammers. I ordered a doorbell camera, then instantly changed my mind. Emailed asking to cancel the order, to be told it had shipped already, even though the tracking which was based in CHINA didn't leave for 2 days.
Told customer services continually I didn't want it and to cancel order.
Now its here, they say I have to return it to ASIA at my cost and have to pay a 35% restocking fee. None of which is stated on their website refund policy.
Also company website says .co.uk and contact address is UK based yet I have to return to Asia at my cost? Clearly a scam to stop you returning it.
I will be claim a refund via my credit card as a fraudulent transaction.

Saw their review of a video door bell, stupidly was impressed by the review. Ended up ordering from what appeared to be a UK company, to find out its actually coming from China and the same unit can be bought off amazon for 1/3 of the price.
Ripped off. And company won't cancel my order, insist I must take delivery

Disgrace of a company

Second review about same issue. My hotel has been cancelled and over a week later still no resolution. Yesterday I received multiple messages regarding options and looked like we were getting somewhere. Then not heard a thing in 24 hrs.
I've just spent over 2 hours in an online chat queue, to finally get through to someone who said messages were being delayed, then cut me off and asked me to get back in touch.
The chat now says they're offline, at 1615 on a Wednesday. Is this a joke?
How do you run a business like this?
I've requested a call back on multiple occasions and they point blank refuse to call to discuss this.
My next point of call will be going to citizens advice beurea for help with dealing with them and looking at a charge back with my credit card company as they are not providing the services I have paid for.
OTB are literally the worst travel company I've ever dealt with in over 30 years of holidays

Shocking follow up service.

Initially booked a holiday and all seemed well, except they didn't add the free airport lounge as they're so fond of advertising. However after chasing this up using the online chat this was resolved.
A few months in we heard rumors online that our hotel wouldn't be open in time. I messaged On the Beach as there is no phone number, they said they would contact the hotel and find out. 2 weeks later I was still chasing OTB for an answer. So I messaged the hotel directly and they replied within 1 day.
Now, with only 2 months to go I've received an email saying the hotel won't be open from OTB. They've offered an alternative which is nowhere near as nice and in a completely different part of the island.
I've messaged back asking them to contact me regarding my options, they auto responded saying they would reply within 48 hours.
48 hours came and went with no response. So I've tried the online chat and they're not open at weekends, plus it's bank holiday now. So no response for over 72 hours.
This is the most stressful of situations for our family, yet OTB can't even be bothered to ring us and explain nor even reply to my messages when they say they will.
They're a complete disgrace and I will never use them ever again.

Please be assured that we are aware of the issue surrounding your hotel and that our dedicated hotel team is currently working to resolve this as quickly as possible by sourcing a suitable alternative for your booking.

Earn money back for things you're buying anyway

I'm new to Topcashback but you just look for things you were going to buy anyway and see if the company is listed on Topcashback.
If it is, you earn money back on purchases. I've claimed back £110 so far and only bought a few things. Great considering I was buying them anyway.

No customer care. Leave you stuck abroad

Booked a family holiday for 5 at a cost of £5400. TUI supplied the holiday, accompanied by easyjet flights as suggested by TUI staff. On return home, the flight was cancelled, leaving us stranded in Turkey overnight. With no help from Easyjet, I approached TUI customer services for help as they were the holiday agents. They wanted nothing to do with us. Said its easyjets problem. Stuck in Turkey at midnight with 3 kids, TUI washed their hands of us. I've emailed to complain about their awful level of customer service and they've basically come back and said, sorry its easyjet's fault. No mention of the awful customer service. Well they've had £10,000 off me in the last few years but it's the last penny they'll ever get off me in future.

Hi Jay,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're always aiming to improve our service so it's great to get your feedback so we can monitor our customer satisfaction.

I’m very sorry to hear of your experience with your cancelled return flight and difficulty with getting overnight accommodation. Although I understand that your flights were with a third party airline, to hear that staff at the airport were unwilling to help is very disappointing and not the service we would hope for our customers. This will be fed back internally to the relevant departments to put any required training or improvements in place.

From our records I can see that an agent in our 24/7 Holiday Line team tried to assist as best as she could, although I am sorry that she was not able to resolve the situation.

Regretfully we would only be able to advise that the outcome provided by our After Travel team would be correct, although I can see from our records that the team have provided you with contact information to raise your claim with the correct teams. I sincerely hope that you are able to get this resolved quickly.

Thanks again for reviewing us and letting us know your thoughts. We'll keep working towards making sure we're providing the best possible service.

Kind Regards and many thanks,
Lauren

Review of Forgarden

***Updated*** Wasted my time

******update***** I got in touch with For Garden after 12 weeks of delays and excuses and told them i wanted a full refund. I was completely surprised when i received an email saying they would refund me. I fully expected it not to arrive, however after 2 days the money is back in my account. I also received another email apologising for the delays and saying they had been let down by the supplier. If only they had told me this at the start, I wouldn't have wasted 12 weeks waiting for furniture.

*****Original post*****
Complete scam. I ordered garden furniture in April, was told 4 weeks lead time, then got told 10 more working days, then another delay til 2nd June, then another to 14th June, then was told they would definitely be arriving by 16th June. They said the delivery company manager had confirmed it. We'll guess what? It hasn't arrived. They've not responded to my email all day. So now I'm going to have to claim it back via fraudulent credit card transactions.
Stay away from this company

Review of Wifinity

Exploiting servicemen/women

Wifinity has recently been installed on my based and now the BT military has stopped working.
Wifinity won't connect on my phone as its security certificate isn't valid so Google blocks it.
When I can get onto the login page the purchase options are dreadful. You're allowed 2 devices connected for £16.99 per month? The more expensive option at £24.99 allows 3 devices. This is such a rip off, if I were to get a router contract for £24.99 I could connect whatever I wanted and get much faster speeds.
I feel this company and contract setup on my base is fully exploiting military personnel and their circumstances claiming to provide flexible usage at fast speeds. Well 2 devices isn't very flexible, nor is the pricing structure. Already dearer than my BT which can connect as many devices as I like, as well as using at hundreds of bt wifi hotspot.

Terrible company to deal with! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Terrible company to deal with!

On collection the agent at Mallorca airport tried to argue that the excess cover i had wasnt adequate and that i needed their own version, costing over €200. I said i was happy with what i had and didnt want theirs. She was really aggressive and pushy about it but eventually gave me the car without the additional insurance.

On collection of the car, there was a massive scratch/gouge down the passenger side which wasnt on the damage form, but was impossible to miss. I went to the desk to get someone to check it over, but instead they just took a copy of the form i completed and stamped it.
I WILL SAY HOWEVER that beside the damage, the car we had was a really nice ford focus, very clean inside and out and worked perfectly well and was nice to drive.

On returning the vehicle i went and asked for someone to come and check the vehicle for any new damage. I was told to just leave the keys and it would be checked later at an external garage.
I said this wasnt good enough as i wanted it confirmed there was no damage before leaving. The agent said you can wait all day... Nobody will check it for you.
I explained that if the company crashed the car taking it for inspection or someone hit it in the carpark i had no proof the car wasnt damaged by me and i could potentially be charged.
She just smuggly sat there and shrugged her shoulders.

The service from this company is a joke, and i will never use them again. This wasnt just my experience however, 4 other people dropping off at the same time all had similar issues, with one couple saying they were forced to pay €300 for excess insurance or they couldn't take the car.

Avoid this company at all cost, they are an absolute bunch of con artists.

Dear Jay,

After reading your comment, we understand that you booked a third party's coverage.
Therefore, we'd like to explain you how our coverage policy works. We always make the customer choose from two different options: you can purchase our additional coverage or you can leave a deposit in which you'll be liable of any damage made to the car, as our agent explained you at the counter.

We are aware that third parties offer customers their own coverage, as in your case, but it should be explained that this coverage is only applied when a charge is debited from the deposit left by the customer to the rent-a-car company, this is how the third party's coverage policy works. This information must be given by your broker.

We always recommend our additional coverage to customers for their peace of mind because thanks to it, they will be fully protected in case of an accident and we won't be liable if any damage is made to the car.

The condition of vehicles is checked and recorded on our system before and after each rental. Our staff should have explained the procedure and addressed any specific concerns you may have had.

We invest continuously in staff training. Your comments will be taken into account as part of our commitment to ongoing improvement.

We hope the rest of your experience met expectations. We value your opinion and will continue to strive to improve our services.
Kind regards,

Victoria R.
Goldcar Representative.
