KLM treated my Pets like luggage.
I was flying from Muscat, Oman to Madrid, Spain with my two cats an a dog. Flying with pets is stressful and I have chosen KLM as they have a reputation of being pet friendly airlines, and I have used them for that reason few years back and had great experience.
Unfortunately not this time.
We had a layover in Amsterdam where my pets were booked into a pet hotel (at additional hefty charge) Unfortunately, as soon as I got to them in Madrid it became apparent that they have never made it to the hotel in Amsterdam and never gotten out of their cages. They cages were sealed with original seals from muscat and so their food and water was never replenished. I also watched them sat on the tarmac in Amsterdam in the rain! I don't now how long they where there as I have reached the gate 10 minutes before boarding, but common! I thought pets had priority and were never left sat there in the middle of cargo loading. Those poor guys must have been terrified.
When I confronted the KLM staff about it he said: "nothing to worry about they are still alive" Not funny given the circumstances.
This was a 20 hours journey and I cannot believe that KLM would screw up so bad. My poor critters were stuck in their boxes for this entire time without even option to go potty! I have paid the extra money for a reason, and for KLM to neglect their responsibilities like this is unforgivable.
I have filed a complained 6 weeks ago and haven't gotten a response yet.
As far as I am concerned, they can go to hell!
