Requesting an additional payment is unreasonable
I placed a pre-order for the Snake60 keyboard and paid the full amount, including shipping, around seven months ago. Just before my order was finally ready to ship, I was informed that I had to pay an additional AUD 25 because shipping costs had increased due to the current global situation.
The amount itself is not the issue. My concern is the principle. I had already paid for both the product and the shipping months earlier, and there was no clear indication at the time of purchase that customers might be asked to cover additional shipping costs later.
Many other vendors I have purchased pre-orders from during the same period honored the original shipping cost despite similar increases. I expected the same level of commitment here.
The keyboard may be unique, but this experience left me disappointed. Customers should not be surprised with extra charges after waiting months for a fully paid order.
Honestly, the seller gave me the option of a full refund or paying the extra amount, and I refused to pay. I received the refund within approximately a few business days.
