As acknowledged in our correspondence, there was historic communication with a former member of staff regarding this matter.
Following that communication, there was no further contact with our office for approximately two years.
When you subsequently got back in touch, we obtained HMRC authority, reviewed the position and provided a proposed solution. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered to liaise with HMRC, appeal penalties and interest, and assist in bringing the matter to a conclusion.
Unfortunately, we were unable to reach agreement on how to proceed.
We appreciate that this situation has been frustrating for you. However, we believe our team acted professionally, respectfully and in good faith in attempting to help resolve matters once we were re-engaged.
We take all feedback seriously and are committed to understanding where expectations may not have been met.

I moved from US to London in 2023 and…
I moved from US to London in 2023 and when it was time to pay taxes on my US income I did some search and came up with your company with good reviews so I decided to contact your Twickenham office and let them do my taxes since 2022. I met great team in that office specially Melissa Fernandes who has been doing my taxes for the last 4 years who is a wonderful person and very knowledgable and doesn't hesitate to help us either in person or on the phone and she is a very big asset to your company and needs to be rewarded.

I was very disappointed by my initial consultation.
I was very disappointed by my introductory meeting with TaxAssist accountants. The e-mail I had received suggested that this would be a meeting where we could discuss specific questions I might have as a new business director and receive 30 minutes of free advice. However the person I had the call with made it very clear that they were only interested in signing me up as a client and until that happened there would be no discussion whatsoever of specific finance or tax questions. My meeting was with the Hounslow and Twickenham office at 2pm on November 7th 2025.

Incorrect Booking Need to employ people who know what…
Woodville, ON Franchise Need to employ people who know what they are doing and don’t just learn Bookkeeping in a 6 week to 6 month program. Also at least one person in a small town office should have a designation or several years experience.
Also when question are asked to them in regards to certain year end issues it shouldn’t take them over a week to respond.
Also they should not be charging to explain or correct someone’s year end when it is their accounting errors.

Excellent TaxAssist for advice for digital tax
I visited TaxAssist in Inverurie for advice on digital income tax. Barry McCabe was very helpful and advised me on how to apply for an exemption based on my age and caring responsibilities. My application to HMRC for the exemption was approved within 3 weeks. Great outcome from an excellent service. Highly recommended to others with similar concerns.
