Pocket Wifi Japan Reviews 

I only have two complaints. My pocket Wi-Fi box arrived a day late. There were three of us connected to it, and the battery drained quite quickly; even with the rechargeable battery, it didn't last more than 7 hours. Otherwise, it worked very well for our trip to northern Japan. J'ai juste 2 reproches à faire. ma box wifi de poche est arrivée un jour en retard. étions trois personnes connectées dessus et elle se décharge assez vite même avec la batterie de recharge cela ne permettait pas de tenir plus de 7 h. Sinon elle a très bien fonctionné pour notre voyage dans le nord du Japon.

DO NOT RENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY! Rented the router for 12 days. The first 4 days router worked great! 5th day could not get it to connect. Kept getting an error message that the ssid did not exist. I wrote 5+ emails to the company to ask for help in helping me connect or to give me a new router. I received no responses at all! Very dissappointed! Want a refund but can’t get anyone else to respond to me! Even had 2 of my hotels try to call them- no number listed. They googled the company and used number listed on return envelope. phone numbers both not working! Worst experience. Had to buy esims from another company. Expected better from a Japanese company!

We ordered our pocket WiFi months ago to be delivered to our hotel in Tokyo. They took the money straight away but when we arrived 5 days ago no pocket WiFi had been delivered. We wrote an e-mail right away. We haven’t heard anything back. We tried calling them but it was an answering machine speaking Japanese. We would not recommend using this company.

If you are traveling to Japan and need pocket WiFi do not get it from POCKET WIFI JAPAN COM. I am currently in Japan right now and got the WiFi from this company, it work for 4 days but on the night of our 4th night it stopped working. I don’t have any internet at all. I emailed support at pocket WiFi Japan dot com since it stopped working several emails actually but no response at all. I actually got it because of the good reviews from trust pilot, I don’t know if those reviews are true or not at all.

They are fast in taking money and they do not respond for the request of cancelation. Not good enough to be in this business.

I wish I would have read all of these reviews first because I have now paid for a wifi router from this company and have repeatedly tried to cancel via email with no response! The only link on their webpage is a broken link. Any way of reporting this site?

Ordered pocket wifi for 2 weeks. Credit card was charged correctly, and device arrived as requested. Powered on and it worked great for 1 week. Then stopped working. Emailed multiple times, even tried to email payment contact. No answer, no email, and the form to submit on their website failed multiple times. So frustrating, I would not recommend, there seem to be other companies out there instead.

I also ordered a pocket wifi. I received the device, but no simcard., so I could not use it. Mailed 8 times in the last 16 days, but 0 response.

They suck: no answer, no service, wtf?!

This is a total scam.
Ordered from home and they withdrew the money right away but the pocket wifi divice never showed up. They don't respond to any of the emails I've sent. Don't use this company!

I was recommended this company by my son-in-law who had no issues. I found the online order form clunky, and when I thought I had put the wrong date in for delivery, and then went back to confirm the correct date, I could only move forward to complete my details by making another payment. Already AUD$80 down, so no way. I have sent several emails to the company with no response, the online form does not work at all now - cannot submit an enquiry through the form. This company is a con. I have lost my $80, no response from the company at all, and I am a person that never gets ripped off or scammed, and I am livid at the company and myself for allowing this to happen. I recommend you think twice before using this company.

Do Not get the WiFi service from this company!!! Horrible service.
The device is unreliable, and the customer service is nonexistent. They don’t respond. I want to cut my service short, and get some refunds, but of course, they won’t respond.

Never got my device and they do not answer on emsils

Started off well - device delivered to hotel on time.
After 10 days stopped working. Nothing showing on screen. Emailed customer support (as no phone number available anywhere on their website) at 8.30am. They replied at 19.55. 24 hours later I am still waiting for an update. Yesterday I had to go onto expensive data roaming on my mobile. So now I have to go to another provider to rent a portable wifi for the rest of my trip.
Shocking customer service and follow up.

Really disappointed after a promising start. Unit was waiting for me at first hotel on an 18 day touring trip of Japan. It worked fine for first three days but stopped taking a charge on day 4 and has now run out of battery on day 5. I contacted the company support email 48 hours ago and am still waiting for an answer. Really disappointed with this level of service

I see I am not the only person who has had problems with this service. Unit arrived at hotel and worked fine for exactly a week (to the minute) then stopped working. I am sure that they turned it off as they thought it was a week's rental rather than 2 weeks but they denied this. Either way, it left us in a very difficult position. We had to take on eSims to cover ourselves which we did for a day but with no response I then booked eSims again for three further days. After I had done this they responded and asked me to do a reset process which I did and the unit started to work again. On my return, we requested a full refund to cover the costs of the eSims. It took 3 emails to get a response and only after I had said I would be reporting this to my credit card company and writing a review about my experience. I was finally issued with a refund for just 1 day and told that I was blackmailing them and faced a fine or prison sentence. It rather felt like they were blackmailing me!! I always leave honest and factual reviews and they had a real opportunity to rescue this situation but decided not to. There are many pocket wifi companies out there - I would recommend trying someone else.

Booked a portable wifi unit a month in advance. The unit was sent to Narita late and arrived a day after I had arrived. No one replied to my email requests for a refund. I wouldn't bother with this company - from what I can tell it's a scam.

I rent a pocket wifi from this firm for 3 weeks. the fiirst week it worked fine, But then it stopped working.
The Macaroon-device couldn't connect to 4G network anymore. support@pocket-wifi-japan is deaf for the problem and they are unreachable for contact. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these crooks

I can honestly say I had an excellent service from this company. Ordering process straightforward. I received my device, a round disc, branded 'Macaroon', a brand I am not familiar with, which I found easy to operate and the battery life was impressive; it lasted all day with 2 users. Also your rental includes a battery pack as well. We visited most touristy places included Nikko and Lake Chuzenji, up in the mountains. We did not suffer any connectivity issue. Throughout our time in Japan, we sent loads of photos on Whatsapp and all sent off okay; no lagging, no throttle on bandwidth. My personal advice to potential renters is - collect your device from the Airport unlike me; I decided to have it delivered to the hotel. Problem was I had no reliable 'free' wifi servies on the JR Narita Airport express into Tokyo city. So if a problem pops up between airport to your hotel then you are snookered!
