Sorry TOTUM, I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt when my 'renew TOTUM for 3 years and you get Tastecard membership too' was cancelled without a word from you, and nothing put in place to replace using it in local restaurants... HOWEVER, this last wheeze takes the biscuit! Your TOTUM Cashback Card website is still saying "no minimum top-up or top-up fees". Today though, I've received an email telling me all about the "improvements" to my TOTUM Cashback Card. One of these "improvements" is that, from 22/10/2025, a 40p fee will apply to every top-up below £200, and "To avoid the fee, consider topping up £200 or more at a time"!! That's not 'if you keep your balance at £200 you avoid the fee', it's every top-up has to be £200 to avoid fees!!! Ridiculous! Shame on you TOTUM for peddling all these false promises whilst charging students 'membership fees' at the same time!!

My unique link for Totum given by my institution wouldn't work on their site, to allow me to sign up to Totum. Whilst initially it was difficult getting customer service to understand the problem, Manali then went out of her way to support me in successfully getting my Totum card trying a different method to get me registered. Appreciated her going the extra mile.

I have been trying to get the card and every time I try to upload my photo nothing works and I have tried to get help but there is no one you can contact there is no customer service support at all, you leave a message and they don’t even get back to you, absolutely disgusting service so far

Had an issue when I couldn’t get onto the final step of purchasing a card. Emailed the team who got back to me straight away.

Retirees may not join. Seriously.
Well I tried to join as a retired NHS/Social Services employee. I managed to join BlueLightCard on this basis. Not so with TOTUM who obviously have a thing against retirees. I guess its ageist and youve basically outlive your usefulness. Ah well little else to be said

Thanks for leaving your feedback. The TOTUM membership evolved from what was the NUS Extra student discount card, which was a student only membership. We have expanded the eligibility range over the years to incorporate professional learners and members of professional bodies, but unfortunately it is not available to retirees from all professions. Pointless and waste of money
I paid for a 3 year membership because it was another form of ID I needed and there was the promise of unique and useful discounts. I got the card and used the ID a few times but the discounts were so limited. In the three years, could not find a single discount that I would use since they were for a tiny discount on a luxury/expensive brand or for restaurants and stores that were far to travel to. Do not buy!

Not really worth it
The pros to this is you have physical card, I've not been able to find another site that does this.
You get a taste card along side it this is good if you have restaurant in your area that accept it but I've found that very few round me do.
The cashback card is pretty decent but the con is it is only available if you are over the age of 18.

Not user friendly
No physical card is sent. I cannot see my card number and details in the app, so can't use it for online payments. The totum website seems poor and lacks information. My card doesn't show up in the totum app either. Also, it is unclear, but seems like there will.be a charge for not renewing next year. Seems really good, but in reality it's not seeming great

Toby Carvery code not working
My code was scanned at Toby Carvery in Loughborough on 7th May. But there was no reduction in the cost as the code didn't work. This cost me an extra £24.96, so not happy as this a treat for my nephew and his girlfriend it spoilt our evening

Unreliable Service – Payment Issues and No Customer Support
I made a purchase through IKEA using my Totum Cashback Card. The payment was successfully deducted from my account and is clearly visible on my statement. However, IKEA claims they never received the payment and consequently cancelled my order.
I have reached out to Totum multiple times via email, but have received no response. The lack of communication and support is extremely frustrating, especially considering the urgency of my situation.
I cannot recommend Totum Cashback to anyone. The service is unreliable, and the customer support is non-existent. Be cautious and consider alternative options to avoid potential issues.
