This happened at the London Ilford restaurant on 4th September 2026 around 1 pm.

I observed employees preparing food with bare hands. Lettuce, bread, chicken, everything.

I ordered a Shatter Chicken Crunch, avoided eating the bread due to the hygiene concern, and only ate the chicken.

This caused me nausea.

Went in to the Worcester branch and ordered through the machine. Our order was the only one on the board and the place was empty. Rubbish all over the tables and floors and the bins were overflowing. Several staff behind the counter just chatting. At one point the woman stopped making our food to have a chat with a colleague although we'd been waiting 10 minutes. In the end took 15 minutes for the food to come out. Wouldn't go back. Food was actually nice but the service in there and hygiene is awful.

Do not like to write this but just being honest......Ordered a special popeye mixed kebab £16 plus chips with cheese last Friday. Was outstanding. Lots of different meats very fresh and I know the driver who is owner himself of MRC on Spring Bank great guy...... Tonight ordered the same received a nan-bread filled with doner meat and bits of chicken? Nowhere near the quality of Fridays order.....Tried to give genuine feedback over the phone Popeye guy basically called me a liar and hung up.....Sorry but you lot can get to F * * K ok you`ve lost a valid customer ok ;-))

The new Slough store is very disorganised been waiting nearly 25 minutes for my food still waiting to the point the managers ask a member of staff to stand on the door to stop customers coming in complete nightmare, I won't be coming again

I loved the food but didnt see it was halal until i was leaving. This should of been clearly explained when ordering. My religion doesnt allow for halal food. Its unacceptable a non halal option is not available in a christian country

We placed an order for collection at the Newport branch through their website. My husband arrived to be told they had no record of the order. They then couldn't honour the 20% discount applied on their website and told my husband to pay again but that they could only offer 10% discount (he had a screenshot of the original order on his phone).
I contacted Popeyes via their web chat service on the 26th August to make a formal complaint but have had no correspondence from them since. Doesn't seem like I will at this point.
Very poor customer service on all parts. Will not be ordering from them again.

Disappointed in sixfields branch. Food was great however hygiene needs ALOT of work. Bins were overflowing. One toilet out of order and the other was disgusting, dirty toilet, soaking wet floor clearly not checked and cleaned. Staff need to do regular checks as this will put customers off coming even if the food is good!!!

⭐ Disappointing experience at Popeyes Worcester

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a great experience at all. We waited around 20 minutes just to be served, and there were no drinks available on tap.

I ordered a peach lemonade, but it was warm, so I took it back. I completely understand that things can go wrong or equipment can have issues, but it was the way it was handled that really let the experience down. The manager was grumpy, unhelpful and, when I returned the warm drink, I found her attitude unnecessarily rude.

Good customer service can make a huge difference when something isn’t quite right, and unfortunately there was very little of it on this visit. I left feeling more disappointed by the way we were treated than by the food or drink issues themselves.

Definitely not the experience I expected from Popeyes Worcester.

the customer service team let this show down. No reply toy initial contact with Popeye's, then an email request for the scan of my receipt......still........no reply. Not the way we expect customers services to act. I will pursue my issue but I've had to score you on your very poor customer service so far. Hang your heads in shame. Or as Popeye's would say "Y'all hang your heads in shame"

Popeyes at Leeds Gildersome consistently provide exceptional, friendly service and high quality food. The order always arrives complete and with a friendly face. Keep up the great work!

Extremely poor experience given wrong food/ order and unacceptable customer service

I ordered food specifically marked as Classic/Mild, as I cannot have spicy food. Despite this, I was given spicy tenders and spicy fries!!!

The order clearly stated that I had ordered the mild/classic option, yet the food supplied was completely different. Eating the spicy food caused me to have a reaction, which was particularly concerning given that I had specifically ordered food that was not spicy.

When I raised this with the manager, I found their response extremely disappointing and rude. The only thing offered to me was an ice cream, which I did not accept. I was not offered a refund, despite having been given the wrong order.

Quite apart from the reaction I experienced, supplying food that was materially different from what I ordered is unacceptable. I paid for a specific order and did not receive what I purchased.

This was a very poor experience from both a food-safety/customer-care perspective and in the way the complaint was handled. I have contacted Popeyes customer care to try to resolve the matter, but so far the issue has not been satisfactorily resolved.

I am giving Popeyes the opportunity to resolve this directly. If they refuse to do so, I will consider taking further action to recover the money and address the wider issues arising from this incident.

Won’t be using this place as their chicken is halal.

Omg first time eating from here and was so shocked the chicken coating was rock hard killed my teeth how the hell are they still open i will never eat from there again ill stick to kfc. Am you not bothered that you have suck a low rating.

Used uber to place an order and the promotional offer changed just as I checked out. The buy one get one free was removed at 23:58. Like WTF is that about?

Will definitely never be going back to this place!!! Disgusting food and the staff were rude and disrespectful.
Took food back to show them and they tried to say it was bone marrow INSIDE A BONELESS NUGGET!!

Really dirty place, filthy bathroom, unclean room, rude staff. A female employee, maybe Indian, was putting the glasses that had fallen on the floor back for customers to use, and only after I intervened were they thrown away. Never again, a place like that is dangerous for your health. "POPEYE Camndem Town"

Dropped into the Fort Kinnard branch.Been in this one a few times. Food arrived quickly,hot and tasty.Could live on there cajun fries.Member of staff very polite and friendly. Came back few minutes later to ask us if every thing was OK.Never any problems in this branch.

I bought a sandwich and the bread was mouldy and the guy didn’t even give me my money back. He just said here’s another sandwich outrageous.

Very disappointed second time ordering because the first order was a good experience. Milton Keynes branch throw food in the box, no presentation skills and the chicken was soaked in oil, no crunch. Just soggy, the fries were cold and only thing that was warm was the biscuit. Popeyes UK you got to do better and keep service and standards high.
