Very disappointing experience — poor durability and misleading expectations around the guarantee

I’m unfortunately very disappointed with my experience with Maxxim Paris.

I received my order on August 13, and the bracelet broke after only two wears. One of the end bubble components came off. For a new piece of jewelry to break after only two uses is extremely disappointing. I contacted customer service and requested a refund because I had lost confidence in the product.

What I find particularly frustrating is the way the “full guarantee” is presented. From my experience, when a product breaks, the guarantee appears to mean a replacement rather than a refund. This distinction was not clear to me when purchasing, and I believe it should be stated much more transparently on the website. A customer may reasonably understand a guarantee to mean that, if the product fails shortly after purchase, they can receive an appropriate refund or resolution — not simply be sent another product that they may no longer trust.

When I explained that I did not want a replacement because I was worried the replacement would break as well, I specifically requested a refund. I was then told that because the bracelet and necklace were personalized, they could not be returned for a refund. Instead, they offered a voucher for the value of the bracelet.
The communication afterwards made the situation even more frustrating. On August 28, they offered the voucher again, and I replied within seven minutes saying that I would accept it, even though I honestly no longer wanted to order anything from the company. However, on August 31 I was told that the replacement had already been processed and that they could no longer change it to a voucher.
So, to be clear, my disappointment is not only that the bracelet broke after two wears. Products can occasionally have defects. It is the combination of poor durability, unclear expectations around what the guarantee actually covers, and a very frustrating customer-service process.

I strongly believe the company should clearly explain on its website that its guarantee, in situations like this, results in a replacement rather than a refund, particularly when the customer has lost confidence in the product.

Unfortunately, after this experience, I have very little confidence in either the product quality or the way customer issues are handled. I would therefore not recommend purchasing from Maxxim Paris.

I also believe the website should make it much clearer what “guarantee” means in practice — particularly if the resolution is replacement rather than a refund. I raised this directly with customer service as well.

Nach längerer Versanddauer ist die Enttäuschung zugegeben schon sehr groß... ich hätte mir für den Preis eine deutlich bessere Qualität erwartet... weiters ist der Buchstabe "G" leider falsch an der Kette befestigt und die Kette ist schlichtweg zu lang (es gab keine Auswahlmöglichkeit), sodass zb das Herz mit dem Geburtsstein sich ständig nach unten dreht & sich die gesamte Kette beim Tragen ebenso nach kurzer Zeit, dass der Verschluss nach vorne kommt.... Auf eine Antwort des Kundenservice warte ich noch....

Lang leveringstid. Men smykket var værd at vente på. Kæden på armbåndet kunne godt have haft en lukning mere, så det kan blive lidt kortere. Det er lige stort nok.

Leider bin ich sehr enttäuscht ,ich habe nicht den gewünschten Artikel erhalten . In meiner Bestellung geht noch ganz genau hervor welche Farben ich gewählt habe für meinen Ring . Ich habe leider den Ring mit den falschen Farben erhalten und diese Farben sehen von der Qualität her sehr schlecht aus ,keinesfalls wie abgebildet . Ich bin sehr enttäuscht ,der Ring hat mich 50 Euro gekostet und ich kann ihn nicht verwenden ,weil er alles andere als wie ein 50 Euro Artikel aussieht und keineswegs dem entspricht was versprochen worden ist .

Super goede ervaring met deze partij. Ik had een foutje gemaakt bij de bestelling en zij deden er alles aan om het om te zetten. Ik ben erg blij dat het gelukt is. De producten zijn mooi!

Slechte kwaliteit, slechte service, kortom echt NOOIT meer bestellen bij hun.

Ich habe zum Geburtstag ein Set mit Ring und Armband von meinem Mann bekommen.
Es steht sehr schön aus.
Lieferung dauert etwas weshalb man das beim bestellen einrechnen sollte.

Bracelets magnifiques, très belle idée de cadeau personnalisé. J’ai commandé les bracelets avec pierre de naissance après une erreur de la part du site, le service client a été très professionnel et m’a renvoyé les bons bracelets. Je recommande les yeux fermés!!

Heel duur en goedkope troep ook. Echt niet waard. Ze gebruiken AI foto's. Op foto's lijken ze groot en van duur materiaal. Maar ze zijn klein, heel licht en van troep materiaal. Lijken wel barbie accessoires!

Zonde voor mijn geld.
