Nick Niesen is an American entrepreneur, web developer, musician and artist based in Wisconsin. He is the founder of Interfuse and a co-owner and CEO of Madison Liquidators. His work spans software development, ecommerce, digital publishing, information technology and creative projects involving music and visual art.
Web Development and Technology
Niesen has spent much of his career developing websites, software and internet-based businesses. His development work has included ecommerce platforms, database-driven applications, content management systems, search technology and tools for organizing and publishing information online.
Niesen has remained directly involved in software development and the technical infrastructure behind his projects as his businesses have grown. His work has included programming, database development, server infrastructure and the design of proprietary web applications.

Interfuse
Niesen founded Interfuse in 2008. The original Interfuse project consisted of several divisions involved in online commerce before evolving into a web development and information technology company.
Interfuse became the development organization behind a number of Niesen's web projects and provided technology development for Madison Liquidators. Niesen later acquired the interfuse.com domain to establish a permanent home for a new generation of the Interfuse project.
Development of Interfuse.com has increasingly focused on organizing, publishing and discovering information. Niesen designed the Interfuse Knowledge Base as an expandable collection of interconnected topics that can be created and improved by contributors. Additional Interfuse services, including the Interfuse Image Library, are being developed as independent applications that can also work together as part of the larger platform.
Madison Liquidators
Niesen is a co-owner and CEO of Madison Liquidators, an office furniture company serving customers throughout the United States. He has played a significant role in the development of the company's ecommerce platform, technology and digital marketing operations.
His work with Madison Liquidators has combined software development with business operations and marketing. Technology developed for the company has supported ecommerce, product management, content publishing, advertising and other systems required to operate a large online catalog and serve customers beyond the company's original local market.
Other Internet Projects
Niesen has created and operated additional internet properties and software projects outside of Madison Liquidators and the primary Interfuse platform. His projects have explored areas including online publishing, search, financial information, website monitoring and tools for processing and organizing large collections of web content.
A recurring characteristic of his development work is an emphasis on proprietary technology. Rather than relying exclusively on third-party platforms, Niesen has continued to develop software and infrastructure internally for use within his businesses and internet projects.
Music and Art
Outside of software and business development, Niesen is a musician and visual artist. He recorded his first album, Make Believe, in 2005 and followed it with Distortion in 2015. His music incorporates electronic instruments, synthesizers, drum machines and traditional recording techniques.
On March 18, 2025, Niesen established Ground Zero, a dedicated music and creative studio for the exploration of electronic sound. The studio combines electronic instruments, synthesizers, drum machines, effects, recording technology and software in an environment designed to encourage experimentation with sound, composition and music production.
Ground Zero also provides a space for Niesen's broader creative work, including visual art, photography, video and other forms of creative experimentation.
Conservation and Land Projects
Niesen established the Restoring Land Project (RLP), a philanthropic conservation initiative focused on restoring land, improving wildlife habitat and sharing practical knowledge that can help and inspire others to improve land of their own. The initiative was established with the support of Kelly Niesen and others, with outside contractors and specialists engaged when their equipment, knowledge or experience can contribute to project success.
RLP also explores ways that productive human land use and healthy natural ecosystems can coexist. This includes examining practical approaches that can improve ecological value while allowing land to remain productive and, where possible, identifying practices that may also benefit agricultural use.
The initiative's first restoration site, RLP-001, is an active land rehabilitation project in Wisconsin. Work at the site has included planting trees, establishing native and beneficial vegetation, seeding prairie and grassland areas, developing pollinator habitat and adapting land-management practices to support wildlife.
RLP-001 has been extensively documented throughout its development. During its first years, the site has experienced a substantial increase in wildlife activity, including numerous birds, deer, wild turkey, coyotes, insects and other wildlife. It has also developed into significant seasonal habitat for monarch butterflies, with hundreds observed during periods of peak activity.
Experience gained through RLP-001 provides a practical foundation for the broader Restoring Land Project, including information about methods, expenses, successful and unsuccessful approaches and the long-term process of ecological rehabilitation.
Approach to Projects
Across his business, technology and creative work, Niesen has remained directly involved in building and developing his projects. His activities have ranged from writing software and developing online platforms to building businesses, producing music and undertaking long-term creative and conservation projects.
