One of my quiet joys of business travel is when it overlaps with time with a good friend! Last week I was on business in Porto, a beautiful city on the Atlantic coast. But the real highlight apart of packed and super exciting work agenda was a coffee with Felipe Araujo. We first met years ago, working together at Kraft Foods. Since then, our career paths have taken us to very different corners of the world. But somehow we've kept the thread going, sharing thoughts, celebrating wins, and showing up for each other when it mattered. Thank you, Felipe Araujo for the conversation, the laughs, and for being someone I can always count on! That's a wrap on my time in Salesforce! 🤝 Thank you to all my teams, peers, managers and customers, it's been transformative!  Moving from Media into Tech was a massive transition and learning, but what better company and people to do it with?  From 🥾 Bootcamp in San Francisco🥾 ,  to 😷 pandemic lockdown and WFH😷, to 🏢 RTO, 🏃‍➡️ office move, moving from ☁️ CRM ☁️ to 📊 Tableau📊... JAGGAER's acquisition of ivoflow is more than a feature expansion. It reflects a broader shift underway in procurement technology, one where the market is moving from process automation toward decision intelligence. I've been familiar with Ivoflow since 2024, where it immediately stood out from the herd for its focus on direct materials intelligence. Its ability to connect internal procurement data with external market signals to help procurement teams understand where pricing is moving, where savings opportunities exist and how supplier pricing aligns with underlying market conditions solves a longstanding challenge for manufacturers. Procurement teams often have access to enormous amounts of spend, supplier and sourcing data, but translating that information into actionable negotiation strategies remains difficult. The gap between visibility and action is where many opportunities are lost. Strategically, the acquisition makes sense because the two companies are solving adjacent pieces of the same problem. JAGGAER brings the transactional system of record, supplier relationships and procurement workflows. Ivoflow brings market intelligence, direct materials cost analysis and AI-driven opportunity identification. Together, they have the potential to move beyond traditional analytics toward what JAGGAER has described as "spend decision intelligence." I also think this reflects a broader trend we will see more of across the procurement technology market. In recent years, organizations purchased separate solutions for source-to-pay, supplier management, spend analytics, market intelligence and cost modeling. Increasingly, customers want these capabilities connected. They want recommendations embedded directly into procurement workflows rather than requiring users to move between multiple platforms (orchestration, anyone?). In that sense, this acquisition is as much about where the market is headed as it is about the capabilities Ivoflow brings today. The most valuable procurement technologies of the next five years likely won't be the platforms that simply tell you what happened. They'll be the ones that help procurement teams determine what to do next, why they should do it and what value they should expect to achieve. That's why this acquisition feels strategically sound to me. It strengthens JAGGAER's position in manufacturing, expands its direct materials story and accelerates its evolution from process execution toward intelligence-driven procurement. That's a direction many providers are pursuing, but this move gives JAGGAER a potentially differentiated path forward.
