Customer Success has entered the ROI era. The renewal conversation has fundamentally changed. At our latest Customer Success Snack in Cologne, 25 post-sales professionals gathered to discuss what that means in practice. A few insights that stood out: • The Great Tech Stack Cleanup is real. CFOs are pushing consolidation, and every tool must justify its cost. • Champions still love the product, but they often act as “shields” between vendors and decision makers. • ROI cannot be a renewal conversation. The most effective teams start defining success metrics during onboarding. • AI is already operational for many CS teams. The debate now is strategic: Should it reduce cost to serve or make CSMs more strategic? • The CSM role is quietly becoming a hybrid of account executive, product manager, and strategist.
