The person who started the process of my mortgage renewal went on vacation without notifying me. If he had informed me earlier I wouldn't have to starts process my application with him. Unprofessional person to ruin the company name.

Had the misfortune of dealing with Kamlesh Mudaliar. Out of all the lenders these people allegedly deal with and he submits to just one, then made me have to follow up for my own decline. Then to add, he couldn't have been bothered to give you reason for the decline and how he refused to advocate for the application. Typical, three click and move onto the next file broker. Complete waste of time.

I was drowning in debt and payments with nothing left to live on. After checking out True North Mortgage on the Better Business Bureau, I decided to give them a call. My contact is Mitch Monaco, a pleasant, personable, upbeat and professional rep who made my life a whole lot easier. Mitch is compassionate, understanding and non-judgmental which is what I needed. He didn’t hesitate to help us and walked us through every step of the way; giving us options and competitive rates. He communicated through every step. He returned emails and phone calls right away. My husband and I now have money to live on after making payments.

Bottom line, we were paying $5400 a month in debt payments but after talking with Mitch we now pay $3100 approx per month. I can’t thank Mitch enough for saving us. Thank you True North Mortgage for hiring a great individual. Looking forward to dealing with Mitch in the future.

Dealt with Jas Singh. His communication needs serious work. I asked him multiple times when renewing our mortgage about incorporating our property tax because we don’t have the money to pay it in instalments and we have always had it tacked onto our mortgage. Each time I asked about it, it was not properly addressed and seems as though it was completely avoided. After I confronted him about this when I saw our renewal and it did not include property tax, he told me that I can make a payment plan with the city for my property taxes because THINK financial doesn’t offer that (which was NEVER previously communicated no matter how many times I brought it up!!). I just called the city and before I can make a payment plan, I need to pay what is outstanding, which I do NOT have. So now I don’t know how I am going to pay my property taxes. I can’t speak for any other agent at true north, but I’ve had more than one issue with Jas Singh along the way and I would not recommend.

Working with Mitch Monaco as our mortgage broker was an outstanding experience from start to finish. He was always professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive whenever we had questions. He took the time to walk us through every step of the mortgage process, making what could have been a stressful experience feel straightforward and manageable.

Mitch was consistently on top of every detail, ensuring everything stayed on track and keeping us informed throughout the process. Most importantly, he was able to secure an excellent mortgage rate for us, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Very disappointing. I contacted True North Mortgage expecting them to shop around for the best rates. Instead, after days of emails and answering questions, I was told RBC already had the best rates for a rental property. It felt like a complete waste of time and there was very little effort made to actually earn my business.

I worked with Simon Phi and the experience was great right from the beginning. Simon was friendly and explained the steps for the process of my mortgage renewal. He kept me updated as the process was going through the steps. Great rates and beat every financial organization I searched.

My sister and I recently worked with Mayank at True North to secure a mortgage for our home purchase, and we couldn't be happier with the experience.

I went to True North for our mortgage needs. Although our agent was kind and helpful, we haven’t been able to get a response for 35+ days. They submitted the application twice - no answer. It is standard to give a 5 day financing clause and if you plan to do this with your home purchase, just know that you may not get an answer and wait 35+ days.

The underwriters go back and forth asking the same questions over and over. They question your VALID work letters. Your salary.

We have used many mortgage brokers before - and I have to say this is the worst company we have ever dealt with.

In addition, they pulled credit more than once, without consent.

Look elsewhere.

True North responded by saying their standards are equal to or better than what is out there - but this isn’t my first rodeo. I’ve used brokers before and this has been the only time that after 35-40 days we still did not have a response. That indicates to me, a lack of knowledge and professionalism, regardless of how challenging the file may have been.

We were approved by BMO in 4 days so this is a True North issue.

Mitch was very helpful getting me the best mortgage rate and was always accessible when I needed to speak with him. Thanks Mitch!!

We wanted to refinance when renew our mortgage was up. We were approved and our documents signed but the lawyers office then failed to draft the documents before our old mortgage matured.
When we reached out to our broker 2 days before the date of maturity asking why we hadn't heard from the lawyers we were reassured that everything was on schedule.
We later received a copy of correspondence from the broker wherein the lawyer's office told him to advise us that we should contact our lender and instruct them to renew our mortgage into an open mortgage. This information was not passed along to us even though the lawyer's office confirmed that the broker told her that he has advised us to do this.
The lawyers did not get the paperwork done before our old mortgage matured and our lender renewed our mortgage into a 6 month closed which was going to cost us thousands in penalties.
Needless to say, we were forced to stay with our lender at an increased rate.
One thing that struck me is that most correspondence was done by email. There was no inclination to pick up the phone to discuss important details or deadlines.
This was not a great experience for us.

Robert Dang from True North Mortgage came to our rescue after a horrendous experience with our long time bank RBC. He provided excellent advice and considerate solutions during this stressful time of needing to find a new home for 3 mortgages. For months he worked on our portfolio to tailor a better solution, making himself available and provided much comfort and emotional support along with the practical financial mentorship. 5 stars are not enough for Rob and the team, including the in house lawyers for think financial who corrected some very serious administrative mistakes that RBC had made in our case, that required significant expertise. We will never trust any major bank in canada ever again. Thank you Robert and true north. You have our gratitude.

Rishi Patel Review.

From the very outset, was impressed by Rishi's communication skills, client focus and results oriented service delivery model. Rishi's understanding of the mortgage market trends / intelligence, underwriting particulars and the ability to convey meaningful knowledge and considerations to us as his client was exceptional from beginning to end.

We had a nuance on our home purchase that required a late stage pivot towards a different mortgage product and Rishi and myself worked through this together effectively for success, which we ultimately achieved. Perhaps the biggest moment for myself and our family was him giving up his own time with his own family on a Sunday night to be well positioned for execution on the Monday, so we were not in a time crunch. This is the mark of a true professional that is mission focused and will do what it takes when needed to get the job done.

I had a good initial instinctive impression of Rishi at the very beginning of our engagement (as did my wife who felt the same but also added the 'he's cute too' comment which we shared with him openly with laughter), but the final stretch is where it matters and he delivered for our family. He checked in on the phone, via emails and followed up all the way to closing. Total peace of mind.

In terms of product Rishi secured, perhaps the most notable comment was from our lawyer who commented that she hadn't seen a mortgage rate like the one we got in a long time, and her practice is very active in a strong market, so that comment is telling in and of itself.

In closing, I rarely write reviews as in this world unfortunately exceptional service is a rarity these days. However, have enjoyed writing this review and would have no hesitation to recommend Rishi as your trusted mortgage advisor and wish him all the success in the future.

If there was a 6 star rating, he would get a 7.
