With more than 185 years of rich heritage and experience, P&O Ferries has been connecting the UK and Europe for nearly two centuries. Our history and our lifelong drive for innovation helps us be the reliable ferry operator you know today, bringing the latest technology to our fleet to deliver sustainable travel in comfort. We sail across the English Channel, North Sea, and Irish Sea, employing 1350 people around our network. Our fleet of ships includes two hybrid-powered state of the art Fusion Class vessels being delivered in 2023, the newest ferries on the English Channel. Taken together, our ships make nearly 20,000 sailings every year. Our passengers travel with us on major routes connecting the UK to France and the Netherlands, and our domestic route between Northern Ireland and Scotland. We also operate continental hubs at Zeebrugge and Europoort, and overall we carry around one fifth of the UK’s goods trade with Europe. We are the busiest ferry operator on the famous Dover to Calais route, the UK’s shortest crossing to the continent of Europe and with the arrival of our new ships we will make further substantial reductions our carbon footprint, having already cut our carbon emissions on the Channel crossing by 85,000 tons. We are proud to keep the UK connected to our nearest neighbours, giving families unforgettable holiday experiences, keeping the UK supplied with vital goods from around the world and supporting national prosperity, and bringing a new generation of ferries to our fleet with sustainability at their heart.

Fantastic Trip and Booking Experience
I just wanted to say how fantastic the booking experience was from start to finish. The lady who booked our trip was lovely and so helpful.
Our friends had already booked their trip and then invited us to join them. As a family of four, we were fortunate enough to get a family cabin for the outward journey, but unfortunately, there wasn’t one available for the return, so we had to book two separate cabins instead.
I emailed beforehand to ask whether it would be possible to allocate our cabins close to our friends, and also both cabins on the way back to be together so that we could all be near each other throughout the trip.
We were really pleased to find that we were next door to each other on the outward journey and directly across the corridor on the return. It was lovely to see that our requests had been taken into consideration and accommodated.
We had a fantastic trip, and all the staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thank you for making the whole experience so positive. It really is appreciated!
Relaxed crossing
Relaxed crossing. Nice cabin with renovated showerroom. Good food in café. Friendly staff. Entertainment program disappointing.
Excellent trip outward and back
Excellent trip outward and back, priority boarding and club class , friendly crew,
Delays, Delays and more delays
Overall, a lovely experience apart from delays, delays and more delays. We didn't leave to go to Amsterdam until 10:30. Then it took 2 hours to get back on the ferry after the day in Amsterdam; this led to further delays and getting back in Hull for 9, but not allowed to depart the ferry till 11.30
I think the Pet lounge is amazing
I think the Pet lounge is amazing. Slightly disappointed as snacks removed. However, from leaving the dogs in the car or a cage as before. My hat of to who's idea the Pet lounge was.
good trip all went well
on time, very clean boat, easy load/off load and helpful staff
The pet passport was all in order
The pet passport was all in order. But kept us waiting about an hour as no one understood new rules so then we missed our ferry and had to wait almost 3 hrs for next one
Short notice cancellation
Our Rotterdam to Hull crossing was cancelled at less than 24 hours notice and P&O were unable to offer another convenient alternative. We have put in a compensation claim however they rejected this as they had refunded our original payment. We were therefore left considerably out of pocket along with the inconvenience of having to arrange alternative transport and accommodation at short notice. I find this unacceptable and a neglection of their responsibility. I will not use P&O in future.
Communication shocking
Communication shocking. Arrived 1900 for a ferry due to leave at 2000 only to be told it had only just left Larne and would be 2 hours late. Why in this Dey and age can P&O not communicate this in advance so we could have stopped en route instead of hanging around a port with no food facilities only to arrive in Larne at 2345 at night. They gave us a £6 voucher for good but all the sandwiches etc were gone and the only food to eat at 2300 was greasy fish and chips and onion rings etc I will mover use P&O again. For £400 for a 2 hour crossing each way I expected better!!
Happy with the service
The outbound crossing had a bit of chop but nothing to cause any bother, the homeward crossing was as calm as a mill pond. As we were travelling as a group we ate ate in the kitchen which was adequate.
The staff were absolutely fantastic on both crossings, very kind and helpful.
The booking process is a bit of a drag as you cannot book multiple motorcycles, people and cabins online, the call handler was very helpful but I find it a bit weird that you have to book 4 passengers on 1 bike then 3 bikes without passengers.
I usually take my own rachet straps as I find the cam buckle straps on board a bit flimsy.
The onboard entertain was by far the best we've experienced in the 20years of travelling from Hull.

We had an exciting ferry crossing as a foot passenger. Great to take your children as often they dont get to go on ferries. The check in was very well organised. There was a family area with confortable sofas with great views. Really enjoyed the trip. There is a play area for very small ones too. One thing to note is that the building at Calais for foot passenger check in doesn't open until 8am.
