Over a year of work destroyed by a platform that punishes creators for using a VPN and having a website link in their bio.

I built my channel on Mixcloud for over a year. 2,500+ followers, consistent uploads, paid Pro subscription. Then my last three mixes silently stopped appearing in any follower feeds, follow notifications stopped working, and my engagement dropped to 50% of my previous average overnight. No warning. No email. No strike. No mention of any of this in their Terms of Use.

When I contacted support, I was handed holding responses for weeks while their engineering team "investigated". When I finally pushed hard enough, they admitted an automated system had flagged my account for using a VPN, having a link to my own website in my bio, and using secondary accounts to test my own channel's functionality. None of these are listed as prohibited behavior anywhere in their Terms of Use.

They told me the fix had been applied. I tested it immediately using accounts their support team had never heard of. The restriction was still fully active. They had selectively unblocked only the accounts I had mentioned in my support ticket, while leaving the suppression in place for everyone else. When I confronted them with this evidence, they offered no explanation and no compensation.

This is not a bug. This is a platform that silently suppresses creators, strings them along with fake investigations, and manufactures fake fixes when caught.

If your numbers have dropped for no apparent reason, it is probably not your content.

i feel like mixcloud actually care…

i feel like mixcloud actually care about the radio community, they platformed my radio station on their blog and helped grow my station.

my mixcloud subscription covers unlimited shows so i can house my entire archive, i livestream my radio show on there too and love chatting to people in the comments :)

some listeners also support me with a monthly subscription for exclusive shows which is cool

Every DJ needs a Mixcloud portfolio

Been using Mixcloud to archive my radio shows and mixes for 3 years now and never had any issues. There aren't any other platforms built for DJs that work as well as this. My mixes never get taken down like on other platforms and for discovering music it's a goldmine.

Also, as a DJ it's such a good way to discover music because there must be millions of mixes made by people who really care about what they've curated and awesome live sets from the the last 30 years!

Recently thanks to my Mixcloud portfolio i've been getting gigs for weddings and liveshows. The people that booked me, cited that they go back through my catalogue of radio shows and mixes to understand my wide variety of styles. I find it easier to show my portfolio on here rather than SC because of playlists and things like that

No takedowns on uploads

Struggled to find a place to post my shows without them being taken down but have had no issues with my uploads on Mixcloud. I'm also able to share my shows with people and they're not required to create an account in order to listen to them.

Than i startet Mixcloud ..

Than i startet Mixcloud ...

We had no Limitation on what we Upload to our Community even Audio Quality was way higher than now ...

Now u can Upload 10 Tracks ... if u want more u have to pay them Pro ? :D

Im an Artist ?!?! u should pay me for offering my Stuff on your Platform ? :D

+Support is supporting Racist behavior in DM´s ... which i cant accept if it comes to Music with that much of other Cultures

Soundcloud increased Bitrates to 160 (im recording in 320 just to lewt u know) ...

While Mixcloud is going for 64 and decreased

If ure are an Artist, just look for Platforms which really can support u, instead of ripping you off

As i already filled Stadiums 20 Years ago ... i really dont need to proof anyone in 2026 xD for me this Music on the Internet thing... always was a nice free to give Hobby ... and thats how i will keep it ...

What used to be a cornerstone for DJs…

What used to be a cornerstone for DJs and underground music culture has now become a textbook example of how to systematically destroy a loyal community.
Mixcloud’s decline isn’t just disappointing — it’s embarrassing. A platform that once championed long-form DJ sets and authentic music discovery has devolved into a broken, unreliable service where even the most basic function — pressing play — feels like a gamble. Shows randomly fail to load on both mobile and desktop, turning what should be a seamless listening experience into a frustrating exercise in patience.
But the technical failure is only part of the story. The mobile app, in particular, is a disaster. Slow, unstable, riddled with bugs, and seemingly incapable of handling basic audio streaming without cutting out. Cache management is practically nonexistent, leading to constant interruptions — an unforgivable flaw for a platform built around continuous music.
Worse still is the complete disregard for its creator community. DJs — the very people who made Mixcloud relevant — have been sidelined by poor decisions, lack of innovation, and a steady erosion of value. Features stagnate, integrations break (including basic login systems), and meaningful updates are nowhere to be seen.
Audio quality has also taken a noticeable hit, stripping away one of the last remaining reasons to use the platform in the first place. For a service that once prided itself on delivering high-quality, uninterrupted mixes, this is nothing short of a betrayal.
At this point, Mixcloud doesn’t feel like a platform in decline — it feels abandoned. Left to drift without direction, without care, and without respect for the community that built it.
Every platform eventually faces competition. Not all of them choose to self-destruct.
If this is the trajectory, Mixcloud won’t need to worry about relevance much longer — because irrelevance is exactly where it’s heading.

Sort it out!!!

Seriously guys I pay a yearly subscription along with a monthly listening fee and your system is so slow and dated. I type in an artist and I csnt scroll down the list as it just sticks. It's so slow and it's not to do with the Internet. You guys are charging the same as sound cloud and utube so you need to up your game.

Too many continuing issues not resolved

Mixcloud has the potential to be superb but there are far too many issues that crop up and never get fully resolved. The mixcloud charts are an excellent means of marketing your uploads and they are "supposed" to be daily but very often they don't even bother to update them, potentially denying someone of a high chart placement. As a pro user paying monthly I am restricted to how many other artists/shows I can follow to a point where my activity is frozen for 24 hrs if I add too many ( Why?). When listeners play show's back the actual details recorded by mixcloud is very often well under calculated and not a true account.( I have actually tested them on this) . A little improvement in a few areas and we will all get what we want. Far too many restrictions as well for listeners. As a pro user and someone who uploads show's I need listener's to have full access to play as many shows as they like and to skip tracks if they wish. I'm paying and listeners "shouldn't have to pay" anything for a top service.

Extremely stupid dispatchers/robots

Extremely stupid dispatchers/robots, unhelpful, they write meaningless stuff. They don't answer the question. We wanted to renew the one-year subscription, my credit card was blocked by the bank 4*. Regarding the risk of money laundering/terrorism! Many inquiries every time, I asked to let ME pay for the next year, because the Bank doesn't consider it safe, NO ONE EVER GAVE A CORRECT answer. Maybe they are really financing illegal things in the background, that's why they are afraid to send a legal payment link. Very sad

Pretty bad

Pretty bad service with shows not playing at either phone or laptop. This was a good platform a few months ago but seems to be drifting into a black hole never to be seen again.

Mixcloud greed

Users upload their music, which Mixcloud tries to charge. It is technically free to listen, but if you want to skip song, or listen to different parts of a mix, you can do this only 6 times per hour for free. So users upload music and Mixcloud tries to gain profits from it. This is not a platform for people who have passion for music. It is made for greedy owners who can't get enough.
